I want to purchase a good used snow blower. Can someone recommend a good brand and where to purchase one? I don't want to wait to long and then there gone. Thanks for any advice you can give me.

You are better off buying a new one. A good reliable used machine usually costs almost as much as a new machine at Lowes or Walmart.

Yes but isn't a good used brand name better than a new off brand you would get a Walmart?

Most of the "off brand" models are the same machines as the advertised "name brand" models sold at other stores. They just change the name and put different stickers on them.
The Noma model that I bought 20 years ago at BJ's Wholesale Club was the exact same machine as a different "named" brand sold at outdoor equipment stores. BJ's simply ordered their machines with different stickers and paint colors.
Most of the machines sold at Sears are the exact same machines that you can find at other stores (again, different stickers and paint).
Lowes sells Troy Bilt at a reasonable price. I literally have not had one problem with my Troy Bilt snowblower or self-propelled lawn-mower over the past five years.
My father bought an MTD machine from Walmart 7 or 8 years ago and he has not had a problem with it yet.
If you can find a good used machine at a cheap price then go ahead and get it. Possibly at an estate sale? Or if someone upgrades to a bigger machine and wants to unload their smaller machine quick. But most of the time people keep their snowblower until they start having problems with it.
You could probably find a good used machine at a reasonable price if you really know what you are doing and you want to spend a large amount of time driving around looking at machines. Or just check at Home Depot, Lowes, Walmart, or BJ's for the cheapest model that fits your needs. They often have pre-season sales.

Many snowblowers (and many of those found at big box stores and Home improvement stores) are made by the same company (MTD). Here is a some information which describes who makes what: http://movingsnow.com/2012/whats-the-differen...
Ariens actually makes 8 different series of snow blowers...

Just contact a Utica Schools building & maintenance employee and I'm sure they could hook you up with a quality machine.

And keep looking over your shoulder as you use it, for the police, for when you get arrested for possession of stolen property.
