Where's the report? Why hasn't the news been following up on this? Why are citizens not outraged? Why hasn't any member of the Wyman family come forth asking for the report to be released?

Good reply. Basically, can improvements be made? Yes. Bus accidents, plane accidents, environmental accidents, racing accidents, farm accidents, industrial accidents, etc....every time something goes wrong, the first human reaction is to point the finger. Sad truth is, an accident is a blessing, as it exposes unforseen weaknesses in any given system/situation. That, in turn, causes a recognition of said weakness and (sometimes by public outcry/or not) a fix. It's always sad when a life has to be lost to "fix" something, but that is absoloutely history repeating itself over and over. Lets hope gains are made so those that died in mishaps didn't give all...for nothing, ok?
First off, I feel sad for his death. This case was NOT an accident. It was a Negligent operation conducted by the Sheriff's Department! Wyman was a road patrol deputy and not qualified to be involved in the standoff, once the so called experts arrived. He should have been removed to the rear of the scene for backup IF NEEDED. They should have waited for 3 days if they had to. The guy was held up in the garage and wasn't going anywhere. He eventually would have fallen asleep or given himself up. There was no reason to challenge him like they did. And, when they did , there was absolutely no reason what so ever for Wyman to charge him. His self imposed John Wayne attitude to be the hero obviously endangered himself, plus every one else there. IF,,, the incident had eventually ended without Wyman being shot, he should have been reprimanded, and suspended or even fired. He's credited for being a hero because of the outcome, but if you look past his being killed, HE SCREWED UP ROYALLY amd displayed poor judgement. The same with the Keystone Cop deputy Berger being shot in the foot, and even Corr chasing after an armed robber who had already shot at him, in the dark, in the woods. All 3 incidents violate the cardinal rule of police work. Let's tell it like it is!

Family is not demanding then maybe he isn't dead for if there was this death and Maciol has not done that report, then Maciol should be removed for malfeasance!

not even close to what happened...your account is poor fiction.

In other words, patterson was armed and possibly on his way out to find his girl (who earlier testified thought he might kill her and beat feet as a result). Wyman just may have interrupted a knoxboro domestic murder/suicide by getting there so fast. picture it, a locked and loaded dispondant patterson on a mission, but then a cop car comes up his driveway and he is pinned to the garage. remember, he didn't call 911, didn't know if/when anyone would call 911. he grabbed a gun and was heading out to square things away once and for all...then that 462 car shows up and stops that. maybe that's why, heather.

Let me play the speculation card that you are playing and see what you think. Let's say that Paterson left his garage with his loaded shotgun and was going to jump in his truck to go find a field to shoot himself as to not leave a mess in his garage for his girlfriend to have to see. At that time Deputy Wyman arrives in his driveway and forces Paterson to retreat back into his garage. That could also be a possibility.

The taxpayers of Oneida County deserve to know the truth and the report should have released right after it was completed. To hold it makes Maciol appear guilty.

Personally, I believe Maciol is responsible for the death of Kurt Wyman. Mr Patterson was fired upon and was defending himself, which is provided for under NY Law. Further, it's clear there was no control of the officers at the scene. During the trail, it came out Wyman had no business being near the garage because he didn't have a long gun. He was told to stay back by a superior officer. He defied that direction and got himself killed while attempting to be a hero. The OCSO is responsible for this mess. Railroading Mr Patterson and hiding the report will not make the mess go away.

Heads need to roll (meaning job terminations and criminal charges). The first needs to be that of Rob Maciol. Citizens need to unite and bring down this tyrant.

And the biggest laugh about fatbag Maciol is that some idiots are actually talking about electing fatbag the county executive LOL! If he can't be a man as the sheriff what makes any imbecile with a pulse seriously think fatbag could do the county exec thing? What makes picente think he's electable as dog catcher after selling everyone out? I can see it now=

I wasn't at the Patterson trial but from your post I'm guessing you were there for every word of testimony. I was just wondering what it was the jury saw and heard in the courtroom that led them to convict. Can you enlighten me? If you are right and it was the Oneida County Sheriffs Department at fault then the jury must have missed that because that would have been grounds for acquittal rather than conviction I'm pretty sure.

Are you the person who posted the comment I responded to?

I was responding to this from that poster's(you?) previous entry:
"During the trail, it came out Wyman had no business being near the garage because he didn't have a long gun. He was told to stay back by a superior officer. He defied that direction"

The OC DA's office website says this in their synopsis of the incident and the trial:
"Among the command members it was decided that if there came a time that the defendant took his hand off of the trigger of the shotgun, that they would fire less than lethal munitions (hard foam balls designed to incapacitate) at him in order to take him into custody without gunfire. Deputy Wyman was to move in behind the E.R.T. team upon command in the event that the opportunity presented itself and the foam balls were fired. His job was to stand ready with his taser in the event the defendant continued to resist arrest."
http://www.ocgov.net/distatty/Patterson

Those two things are at odds and I think I'll go with the DA's description rather than an anonymous poster on Topix.

Wow you're a real sheep. You have already been trounced for trusting anything that scrawny half-a-man says.
So Mrs. Maciol, when is your man going tor release the report? It should be noted that Maciol has taken longer than the Warren Commission to deliver a report. The DA and Maciol have contradicted eachother. Get off the man's cock you're just making him look worse because most people can already see how biased you are. Playing stupid seems to be your forte.

They CAN'T "tell it like it is" because they're the cowards of the county. Everything, no matter how pathetic or abysmal it ends up has to be portrayed as a "Super Techno Tactical Smaktical Heroic Display of the Cloud of Glory and Self-Promotion".
This is basically what these useless fuckface wannabe cops there in cny have become. If you took away the paychecks most of these fat flunkies and idiots would starve for lack of balls to do anything but suck a living off of taxpayers and make endless grandiose claims of greatness and self sacrifice. Then they think everyone believes them and act all incredulous that people like us just point and laugh thanking God we listened to our parents and educators who warned us "Don't end up like Office Blob"! The examples are everywhere you look just read the news.

EXACTLY! Until the citizens of this county hold Maciol accountable, the tyranny will continue. The entire ugly truth needs to be exposed; the cover ups and the hidden agendas.
