The military is the biggest welfare entitlement program in the country! Free food, free housing, free education, free healthcare. GET A JOB you losers.

ReallyAv. So for every military job cut and equal number of welfare leeches should lose all their monthly checks. Great idea, let's stop giving money to leeches.

Even President Eisenhower, a staunch Republican, warned the U.S. of the dangers of a huge military-industrial complex in the 1950's.

Since the Reagan era, the military and defense budget grew to the gigantic proportions which we still see to this day. This is not sustainable and no longer necessary.

Even with the military cuts, there will still be a military capable of defending this nation. Many people here grumble about social services and benefits, but the fact of the matter is that all the benefits combined (welfare, food stamps, housing assistance, etc.) annually in this country are far less than defense spending.
