"Stewart's has been stubborn for the location they want," Sam Sardina of Monroe Street said, "There are plenty of locations in the City of Utica that are already zoned."

Says it all. They are stubborn? The city of utica needs Stewarts more than they need you and Stewarts is the private buyer. I'm so glad if they walk away! Lol!!!!!

This guy is correct, Stewart's preferred to bully the residents and the administration into demanding an illegal zoning change or they would not set up shop in any Utica location. They took a risk and lost, Too bad for them and too bad for the City that a suitable location has not yet been secured. I applaud the common council for listening to the residents in East Utica and voting for their constituents not not for a corporate bully.

They are not bullying anyone. They requested a zoning change because that's where they want THEIR business. How is that bullying?

It's not like there'll be any residences left in the area within 5 years that aren't boarded up, burned, and/or otherwise abandoned. Hope they put in a whole lot of plexiglass and CCCs when they build.

Let's sell the residential property on Allen St to an out of towner that will rent to sex offenders
or better yet a residence for recovering drug addicts. This will keep the house residential just what they wanted.

they requested and were denied, end of sentence. next they should request a change in mayor palmieri's neighborhood, he's more likely to roll over for chuck marshall and stewarts.

Has nothing to do with "rolling over". A private company wanted to put their private business in a certain location. Uticans don't want it so end of story. I'm fairly sure Stewarts can recover from this devastating blow. Lol!

why would you say it's devastating? nobody gives a crap that the corporate man didn't get it's way. they'll be building in utica somehow someway somewhere (and again, who cares?).

What kills me is that KTV keeps showing the location they wanted, and if I am not mistaken, that sure looks like a business already on the property. Some sort of garage? So why are all these people getting their panties in a wad? Do they think people are going to drive down from miles around to go to Stewarts?

I bet if they offered to buy Sammy's ranch he would jump at the offer and not have to look at that slum lot next to his house.

Stewarts wanted the existing commercial lot AND 4 additional residential lots to be rezoned. The fools on the planning board and in the mayors office said no problem we'll get it done no matter how illegal it is...the common council did their job and voted it down.

Anyone see it last night? On one of the late night shows they had about ten minutes of people with their pets doing funny animal tricks. How about one guy was from somewhere near Albany. His pet was this chimp. The chimp could sit in front of a computer and it looked like he was typing. But what made it better was the chimp could peel a banana with his feet while typing. Wow! The man said he owns a car lot and he puts the chimp on display to amuse humans. He said the animal looks so funny in clothes and the animal acts likes it can sell cars. The only problem is the smell. The chimp stinks and has to be removed from public display so customers will stay........
