You will all pay for your actions and for you stupid comments. You should be ashamed of yourself talking crap about a kid. Most of you burned your bridges from your respected towns. When Byron gets the Proctor job what will happen to you? ND don't want you either does your own districts. Get a life and let it go Vernold.

That guy should tell ND to suck ass. He is and always was to good for ND. That place is a dump and only had football still there because of him. There are not enough kids at ND for football. ND is following in RCH footprints. They will suck out the remaining cash and close the place down. Abraham will not be back

You'll be back......You're judging a whole school for a small percentage of jerks. I went to a public school and have many good friends that went to ND. Most kids go to ND because their parents send them there, not by choice. I just think you have some kind of chip on your shoulder. God bye, oops I meant good bye!

<quoted text>
I never said she ordered anyone to play anyone. What she said was that no athlete would sit out of thier respective sport because they attended the ROTC boot camp. That's much different than ordering a coach to play certain players. This order went beyond football to other sports. Other sports complied, football did not.
That is what was proven.
For those who say no order was ever given, please explain how and why some football players quit the ROTC program before the boot camp in order to play that week's game. Coach Abraham's decision was well known among his players and others in the time prior to the boot camp trip.
Here is what happened.
Sister told everyone that no player would have to sit out of that week's sporting event if the only reason was that they attended the boot camp.
Coach Abraham disagreed with that and made it clear that players who went to boot camp would not play that following Saurday.
Some players went to boot camp and some chose to quit ROTC in order to play.
On Saturday those players who went to boot camp were not allowed to play.
Some parents were rightly upset about Coach Abraham's open defiance and insubordination. They complained and he was suspended.
You can make all of the arguments you want about preparation and safety but the time to make that argument was when the order was given and the responsibility for making that argument belonged to the coach. The question everyone should ask is if he made that opinion known to the administration at that time or, did he decide to just inject his judgement in open defiance of an order he was given. I think the suspension and eventual resignation answer that. This goes beyond football and you don't seem to understand that.
NDFan,

You are not helping the ND cause. Everyone should know a few of the facts. The principal did NOT want Jim Joseph appointed as president of the schoold board. Her and a few close associates were against a board of any kind, particularly the appointment of Jim Joseph as president. A select few people already running what was soon to become the board threatened to stop supporting the school and the campaign. Mr. Joseph was personally selected to come in and make some significant changes at the school to include removing the principal and a couple of other administrators. The principal unwittingly relented to the heavy handed money and began cooperating with the new board. The football coaches suspension got in the way of the boards plan. The public outcry over the suspension and in support of the coach made the principal look like a fool both publicly and internally, resulting in the coach's resignation.

The decision to not play the players was supported by the administrations student code of conduct and player handbook. Each player and parent has to sign this form prior to the start of each season. The practice and/or contest section clearly states "Even if you must miss practice or contest with an APPROPRIATE excuse, you may be at LEAST temporarily RELINQUISHING your STARTING positions or any other PLAYING role you may have. The COACH has the right to build a team around players with consistent attendance."

If the principal decided to intentionally ignore her own policy, shouldn't she be the person explaining her position and have made it cyrstal clear to the coaching staff and to the parents of the players that were at practice all week and who eventually replaced those ROTC players in the starting lineup??

How fitting that this same administration now goes out and replaces a coach with a 10 year coaching history at the school and an alumn of ND with a coach that basically has nothing more than experience as an assistant to an assistant with no ties or history with the school.

For anyone on the board or within the administration that does not think that this is about way more than football, you are sadly mistaken. As previous posts have pointed out it is about leadership. FOOLS!

That is a great post...it amazes me that everyone thinks this is soley about the football coach. Every reason to send a kid to this school has to be questioned.

This is all about football and the coach. It's the coach and all his friends that are the children putting all this garbage on this site. We at ND could care less about your macho ego's.
