What is happening at ND?

Well today, like most other school days, they'll be holding classes all day with a lunch break somewhere near the middle of the day. Some teachers will be giving tests and some won't. Some students will stay for tenth period to get extra help and some won't. After school some of the winter sports teams will be having practices and some won't.

That pretty much sums up what is going on at ND.

Incompetent, insecure leadership. The wrong peson was fired yesterday! Wake up alumni. STOP giving, STOP buying tickets and STOP sending your children there under the current administration.

I am not an alum but had children there in the late 90's early 2000 and they did not participate in athletics, but i have known Coach Abraham and a few of his friends for a long time.

I can tell you the only language the ND administration understands is dollars and cents. Jim Joseph is president of the new school board AND President and CEO of Oneida Ltd. We all know how that ended with 1,000's of people losing their jobs and careers while one guy continues to get paid, the almighty Jim Joseph.

Poor Sister Anna Mae, she doesn't even know her days are numbered, and as they should be. The board will make this her mistake and hold her accountable for a truly bad decision while at the same time pretending to support her. Won't it be ironic that her lack of support for an alum, a great coach and a mentor to students at ND will ultimately be her undoing. She wasn't even smart enough to see it coming!!

Sad day for ND.

ND was an excellent school in the 60s and 70s when the great Brother Moore established the founding principles of ethics and loyalty that embodied the whole school. Everybody admired him. I'm sure he would be disgusted by what's going on now.

You people are so ridiculous. Guess what my kids go to ND and I could not care less who coaches the football team, because my kids don't play football! Very few parents really give 2 craps about what happens with activities that their kids are not involved in. Get a grip, nobody is going to stage a protest on behalf of the football coach.

. Unfortunately most of the money generated is from the sports programs . ND has 3 very respectable coaches Durr, Plonisch, and Byron . Alot of alumni give money back to the school because of these guys. Most people feel that an injustice was done to a very caring qualified guy who happened to represent the school in a positive way.

This has nothing to do with sports my friend. When a good over qualified guy gets railroaded for doing the right thing. THEN SHAME ON EVERYONE who stands back and allows it to happen. How many more kids and parents in the future will try to do this???.Many Uticans sacrificed alot to put a Catholic HS on burstone road because they believed in the principles the school would teach ON and OFF the field. Unfortunately power has corrupted the once proud teachings of ND

With football helmets alone costing $200+ each I don't think football is making money for ND. Alum give money for all kinds of reasons. Football might a reason for some of those but I don't think a lot.

All this hoopla over a guy who coached a team to barely .500 record then squeaked into the sectionals as the last seed then lost in the first round? The was some of you talk about Abraham you'd think he was Bear Bryant or Vince Lombardi.

OK second round. Big deal.
Mediocre 5-4 season record. 3rd in their division. The main point is that this isn't anything special like so many people writing are making it out to be. This is class C football.

Did you read my post?? I had 2 kids go there and they did NOT participate in athletics. I could give 2 craps how many games the football or any other team won. What I did and still do care about on some level are the decisions being made by this administration. They may not stage a protest on behalf of a football coach, but alumni will refuse to participate in fund raising and will make their voices heard in protest of of an administration long overdue for dismissal. The cleansing another poster made about "cleansing" the school should have started at the top. The new board, in my opinion, was put in place to move the school forward and develop a long term plan for the school's expansion. Little does the current principal know that she won't be a part of it and this recent decision will be a large part of her tarnished legacy at the school. How ironic that will be.
