I started a thread yesterday about 2 little boys who murdered others this week because they had access to loaded guns. Tragic. These kids were 4 and 6. Believe it or not, most knife accidents occur when people are attempting to cut a bagel in half.
well, they are tricky...

and why the hell can't I find a bagel once I go west of Ohio? Unless I stop at a walmart or can find the rare Dunkin Donuts out there, you cannot get a bagel anywhere. Is it something I should be keeping a secret cuz the east coast doesn't want anyone knowing about them?

So they removed guns from the UK populous and now there is a knife attack every 4 minutes (on average) with over 130,000 knife attacks per year... Also on average 6 people per week are killed there with knives and it is not from cutting bagels... Remember, the UK is a much smaller country with a much smaller population than the US.

Ban baseball bats and other blunt objects... I believe they are next on the list after guns and knives...

Ah oh. What if bagels get banned? Then Bagel Grove will go out of business and Utica will be hurting for sure.

I hope that does not happen; it's the only place around where you can just reach out and grab fresh bagels from the trees.

Think about what banning bagels will do to the cream cheese industry.

Listen, I got a completely serious question on this subject, if they do start banning knives is that going to make my sissors weapons of mass destruction? I mean, I can cut shit way faster with them then I ever could a knife...
A knife can hurt and even kill people. But one person with one knife vs one person with an automatic gun can kill many people depending on the magazine.

All of your rhetoric is cute, but belies the point that guns are several times more dangerous than knives.

Your rhetoric is cute! This just goes to prove you CANT stop violence it is in our nature! Not that that is a good thing but how can you not look at other countries like the UK? Like another poster said they are looking to ban knives now. Perhaps we should teach people responsibility with weapons instead of teaching people to be afraid of them. Guns and knives are useless without a person behind them.

Notice how no one is even talking anymore about this? If this were a gun however it will still be a headline.

I agree. I caught the tail end of a news story last night about some businesses being out of some kinds of bullets. I was pleased.

Growing up in Upstate NY I understand owning a gun for hunting and for protection. My family hunts turkey and deer and I remember when they had to put suffering animals down. I also remember when a rabid dog had my brother trapped in a shed and it had rabies. A knife would not have been useful in that situation.

like most things, it depends whos hands they're in. Like, I can work a knife but wouldn't have the slightest clue how to load a gun (although I'm sure I could figure it out given some time)...in my case, I'd be much more dangerous with a knife.

No one should be allowed to leave their homes. Everyone will be safer that way unless your furnace blows up.

I think "can" accidents only happen to goats.
