why should I reduce my electric usage they don't give a crap about charging me more. If they can't meet the demand then they need to get out of the business

The reality is that National Grid's British masters in the UK provide their managerial aristocracy a hefty bonus if US subsidiaries reduce costs and maximize profits to company shareholders. To do this, they beg the public to reduce consumption during high demand so that they don't have to lower profit margins by procuring more power for their customers on the open market (when purchasing power is in high demand).

It's not like there isn't an ability to provide or procure the power on the market from NYPA or via transfer mechanisms with the NYISO. The Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation once supplied a lot more energy when it's service area had more factories and consumers than today. And you still pay for the power that National Grid buys if you use them as your supplier.

The nation's power grid may be under a little bit of strain, but it is very old, too. Remember, National Grid doesn't want to pay any more than it has to in maintaining their infrastructure. Not much money to be made in that. But you are getting hit up pretty hard for infrastructure costs in the delivery section of your power bills.

National Grid has got you coming and going. They are thieves and will not be stopped, ever.

Wow, thank you for validating what I have been saying all along. They are robbers and thieves. They don't give a damn if you don't have electricity or heat, as long as they get their money. The employees are overpaid and underworked. They are lazy and speed constantly - probably to their next prostitution stop, slap me jack stop, drugs, alcohol whatever. The employees are allowed to drive company trucks - God knows where. It's all BS. I can't stand paying this bill!

I once heard about a NiMo wife suing for divorce from her husband on 2 grounds: constructive abandonment and fraud due to husband's closet homosexuality. The reason? He was gone a lot due to special assignments, and the wife felt that he enjoyed the company of men at work more than being home with her. I get the abandonment part. But the homo part? So he wouldn't screw her and make a baby. That means he's gay? Maybe he just couldn't get it up. Oh well. At least the ex-wife got what she wanted.

How about this...If you are not happy with National Grid...have them remove the gas line to your house and have them cut down your electric service...see how that goes for you. You wake up every day, turn on the light switch and the lights come on...you take it for granted. How do you think the service gets to your house everyday...by highly trained, skiled workers...go a few days without lights and gas in the winter and you will be thanking the workers when the service gets restored.
