For years he had a billboard on route 49 that read Fine wine and spirts.
I don't know who was more ignorant, him or the the sign painter.

Nash's was good, Ventura's, the old Tiny's Grill torn down for the "Aud", Donalty's wasn't a restaurant but still had good food, there are too many to remember. The Tiki Toi had good Chinese and was a front for a gambling den. The owner was an Italian, the place closed when he got arrested, must be he forgot to pay off the cops. It may have reopened later, but probably wasn't as good as the old place.

Anyone remember Gebo's on James? Kind of dark inside but 'nice' dark. Terrific sauce.

I may have posted this before but does anyone remember the Imperial? It was downtown.
When we moved up from Philly in 1970 my Dad had been living in a rented room while he worked his new job during the week for a couple months. He learned about the Imperial, one of his favorites. Mike ?? names escapes me, was a cook there then finished up at Pescatores. What a giambrotta he made.

Let me at a couple. Trunfino's in Yorkville. Nofri's in Whitesboro (best bread). Jerry's in Kirkland (I'm still trying to perfect Veal Vesuvio).

As I write, I'm in Dallas, gonna try out Mancuso's which is the Nessia family (Nash's Resturaunt.) If you get to Myrtle Beach in SC, the Pescatore family opened up a place, name escapes me, food is great.

<quoted text>Lynton's was a great place to go and eat. I was at the fire and watched those three women standing in the rain in their pjs and the look on their faces was enough to make you cry. They all worked very hard and for them to watch it go up in flames was a shame. Did they ever find out who started it? Really nice family
Lynton's before the women bought it, Polpo Salad, oh man. Nice quiet joint to take a date.
