ALPINE EAST - without a doubt. The lady that used to run the place was INSANE but that was half the fun, They had the best greens, and most of the really good chefs in the city now were trained by her. The bar was great there as well, i really miss that place

Tike Toi was the "best" chinese restaurant. Best egg rolls anywhere. Awesome chicken almond ding. I can't find that in any chinese restaurant anywhere. Really, really nice owners too.

The "best" restaurant in the past was The Imperial; originally on Oriskany St and later moved to Seneca St. Operated by the Kramer bros, it was essentially a NYC supper club.

Nash's was good, Ventura's, the old Tiny's Grill torn down for the "Aud", Donalty's wasn't a restaurant but still had good food, there are too many to remember. The Tiki Toi had good Chinese and was a front for a gambling den. The owner was an Italian, the place closed when he got arrested, must be he forgot to pay off the cops. It may have reopened later, but probably wasn't as good as the old place.
