They aren’t charged more for other items based on their owner’s net worth.
yes that is fair if you make more money then someone else that is the way it should work.

unions should be outlawed. I worked at Special Metals for years, until I went out on Disability. The top union people there was thiefs. Ray, Mike, Dick, were the laziest workers there and got away with it for years, until the new owners through the bums out.

You are parroting the union myth.
Unions are by far the main reason that middle class jobs have disappeared. It happened on two fronts.

First, in the private sector unions made demands on employers that exceeded the employers ability to pay and still turn a profit for owners. Businesses exist to make money for owners. They do not exist to create jobs or to compensate employees at a rate greater than a job is worth. The compensation rate for any job should be the least amount that the most qualified candidate will take to do the job. Businesses move jobs offshore because they can achieve their goals that way. Again, that main goal being earning a profit for owners. If Levi's could sell jeans made in the USA at a price consumers were willing to pay then Levi jeans would be made in the USA. They are not. If Disney could sell merchandise made in the USA at a price consumers were willing to pay they would. They can't and they don't and it's because of the cost of labor.

Second, at the same time that labor put the squeeze on business, public sector union membership increased. The cost for that is on taxpayers. You don't have to look far to see the effect of that. Compare your last ten years' tax bills. Especially school taxes. Even uber liberal hero FDR said there was no place for unions in the public sector an yet here we are.

Businesses exist to make money for owners. They are not an ATM machine to fund social engineering. Nor are "rich" people. Unions inflate costs and limit opportunities. Just like today's Democrats(not all but most) bear little resemblance to JFK Democrats, today's unions bear little resemblance to the unions of the early 20th century.

I couldn't agree with you more. You make great and cogent points, but what is somewhat troubling is you would here see fit to excoriate these men, while simultaneously giving your criminal friends in very high places (read Nobama administration, etc.) support and passes for doing the same and owrse, but on a much higher and insidious scale. Looking at it that way, one can hardly blame these schmucks for following the leader- be he the king in Albany, DC or any one of the large, national union cadres. Now, before you get on your deflectionary, duck and jive highg horse and go spouting off about me being a Republican shill or lackey, etc., let me make clear: YOU are DEAD wrong... BOTH parties and their patrons are equally evil, treasonous and criminal. Talk about "organized crime syndicates"... I would like nothing better than the system politic and ALL associatedly entrenched "parties" in America be drawn and quartered- they are all the same girl (or boy) wearing different panties. However, it just so happens that the current administration and its party are "in power" and are fast-tracking the communist demise of this once proud republic, and being in "power" are choosing to do just that rather than the reverse for all our benefit. As such, they are worthy of the big target on their backs and the "hang 'em high" hangman's noose!

Actually, I cannot feel bad for the Matts over this theft, as they do have more than plenty, and as a whole have behaved as though they were better than the average American, but I can't condone morally wrong acts and self-serving ethics. It may be one thing if they were skimming just to barely survive- sort of like Robin Hoods- which is an entirely different reality, but these guys were entrenched, well-paid lifers with great jobs many of us with graduate degress would fall over to get these days who just couldn't keep their greedy hands out of the "cookie jar". Not a surprise too, when you learn that they are strong union guys, especially in leadership positions. Unions... Go figure; Another one of America's step by step downfalls, along with the evil corporate America they were created to check...

Most people are programmed to blame businesses or to blame "the rich" when it comes to giveaways of public (taxpayer) money. Newsflash - in any deal there are at least two parties that have to agree. How about complaining to the political types who are making these handouts available. How about stop electing them. Stop blaming wealthy people for being wealthy and doing everything the law provides to keep as much of what they earn as possible. They aren't stealing the money. It's being given to them.

As far as the sign goes, if it poses a hazard to the public or to workers then isn't it the responsibility of the codes department or ASHA to issues citation and order it be fixed? Eyesores and dangerous situations are two different things.
