I was in a store not too long ago and thought I heard a radio ad that said Golf Unlimted in the New Hartford Shopping Center is closing. Sad if true. Is it true? Anyone know why?

When your prices are high and Dicks have better prices on the same glubs and you still will not budge and match them thats what hapoens . I got my Taylor Made clubs over 100 less at Dicks. Play with the big boys or get out!

And maybe when you screw customers over by Raising prices RIGHT BEFORE Xmas, your business dries up. That goof joe polizzi would would ring up a higher price than was advertised or even on a sales tag! Casual indifference and Jew business practices will kill any busiNess. Just a thought.

Golf is a sport that well-educated, well-mannered and sophisticated people like to play. Apparently these types of people are fleeing the Utica area in droves leaving all the white trash and ghetto trash to become the dominant demographic in the region. The diminishing number of golfers left in the area makes it hard for two golf stores to exist at the same time.

Golf has grown in poularity among all age groups for both men and women. It may just me leveling off in popularity the way NASCAR did. While the cost of the equipment and of play may be prohibitive for some, for the most part golf and golf courses are doing quite well in spite of the down economy. The longer spring-summer-fall certainly helps. I've never been there but I understand there is a very nice pro shop at Turning Stone that sells top of the line equipment and accessories. Add Dick's Sporting Goods that has the advantage of buying in volume and then online shopping at any number of sites. One can easily see how it would be very difficult for any local business to compete in that market.
