Sad but true, Far years even. They have absolutely nothing to hide behind any longer. The whole Andy Brindisi failure to do their jobs is just the latest and newest.
With a guy in the hospital and the damaged car anyone else would be arrested why is there no arrest?

Poorly run department. Every muni is suffering from the stranglehold of public safety unions. From my side of the fence we are less safe and paying more for it.

Great question. When is the last time you've heard a person leave the scene of the accident where someone was hurt and it was corroborated by a witness. The police are quoted as saying, they are waiting for Brindisi to retain counsel. Very fishy

And the OD seems conveniently quiet.

This is further proof the "Brindisi" name is dirt and a symptom of corruption.

From the NYS Comptroller report-

Utica spends more for public safety than the average city, at 31.2 percent of total expenditures compared to 25.9 percent. Public safety expenditures grew by 4.4 percent on an average annual basis between 2001 and 2011. Employee benefits expenditures were slightly higher than averages for the Mohawk Valley and for all New York cities, making up 23.1 percent of all spending in 2011, and have grown rapidly over the past decade, increasing nearly 10 percent on an average annual basis since.

The above post may be true but I can honestly say I earn every cent of my $122K annual salary. And I deserve my fully-equipped 2014 Escalade the city provides for me. I have a Hess gas card that I let my entire family use. I recently went to Boston to attend the memorial service of 2 firefighters who lost their lives...I was eligible for full OT and complete reimbursement from the city. Every day at Central Station on Bleeker St., chicken riggies, tomato pie, & half moons are brought in for the on-duty shift at full city expense. Is there a problem here people?

The only thing "disappearing" is the reputation of the UPD and their grandiose claims of being a modern efficient PD.

JustFuck those doucheholes. They made that bed now it's time to take a nap.
