regardless of the FD's understanding of the living arrangements in there... they don't ever consult books maps and sheets last time I looked firefighters in huge cities just saved people. Not make excuses and claim an unfamiliar residential arrangement, boarding house or not was at fault.

A boarding house is a home, temprary or otherwse, for folks who may or may not be state charge persons. Boarding houses, I beleive have to be liscenced by New York State and also be supervised. A person who lives in a boarding house may be on SSI, SSD, Social services or otherwise. I am not totally familiar with boarding houses in New York State, rules and regs, but I do not think they are independent entities. The fact that this individual who died started or did not start the fire is of no account now that he has passed.

Brooks is a nit wit. First all of the occupants were out before UFD arrived. Despite this they would still conduct a primary and secondary search. If visibiliity is 0 then you place your right hand on the wall and proceed with your search. He just likes to babble. As for the landlord being in violation, how could this be. The media states that both the Fire Dept and the Codes Dept inspected the building in previous months. If they both passed the inspection how could he now be in violation? Sounds fishy to m.

the guy was laying on the sidewalk when the FD showed up. The other tenants stepped over the guy when they were coming- this info came from the guy being interviewed on wktv.
