Places I trust:
J & L auto, Champlin Ave, Yorkville
It may take a while but I can trust that the repairs will get done. Prices are reasonable to cheap.

Village Motors in Oriskany
Owner is Matt Shannon, only took vehicle there once but I was happy with their service and the problem was fixed. Quick with service. Prices are normal, don't expect a great deal, but you won't get ripped off either.

Places I do not trust:
Riverside Auto Whitesboro st. Yorkville
When Dan owned it, it was great. I brought my vehicle to him for everything. Sadly, Dan sold the place. New ownership is not as good, I don't trust them with my vehicle anymore. Would not recommend.

These are the only three garages I have ever taken my vehicles to for major work. I have gotten an alignment with Bohling Auto on James st utica. They did a good job, but it was just an alignment, nothing huge.

I have a question: Who to you guys recommend for Tires?

This guy is spot on.

The truth about russ is he abuses his employees and treats them like dirt.

The reason he is "fast" is because he pushes cars out the door with little regard for quality work. Half the time he would be apprehensive about quoting needed parts because he thinks he's doing customers a favor by doing a patch job.

Bring your car there if it already belongs in the boneyard. If you actually want it repaired correctly and reliably, stay away.

He even had a guy working for him that would be let out of jail daily for work. People like that should be fired, not working on your car.

F-M collision is the best in utica, oriskany garage is good, t.p. brake and muffler is good, all the other ones like coles, monro, mavis, midas, they are all ripoff places that over charge for service

Cupolo's in South Utica near the New Hartford village does very good work but is also expensive. I've never had any complaints about the work, they seem to be honest and have never charged me for anything I didn't need. My only issue with them is they charge alot more than anyone else, and seem to find ways to do it. When I took my car there for brakes and inspection, I told them to fix the brakes first then do the state inspection afterwards. Instead they inspected first, failed it, then fixed the brakes so that they could charge for two inspections. When I asked, the explanation was that the state requires that the car go through inspection before any other work is done. I still don't believe that, I just think he wanted to charge for two inspections.
Cupolo charges like he's fixing Porsche's. They're only Fords douchebag.
