R U kidding me? Drunk officer of the law, DWI crossing the border in a city owned vehicle, sex ring, Bosnian war criminal. I suppose the refugee center met him getting off a plane in Syracuse, drove him here in a private vehicle, set him up in an apartment, etc. etc. Would YOU consider moving to this area to bring your children up in this atmosphere? I can hope not. YES this is my real name.

This is just a days worth of the wreck we are. We have the largest population of sex offenders in the country, gays exposing themselves in all our parks, steady supply of prostitutes at our train station, steady supply of drugs 27/7 from NYC, relocated prisoners from the three prisons, steady influx of refugees increase county taxes every year on medicare and welfare with extra stress on our school system, padded union contracts and padded unsustainable pension system nobody wants to fix, crumbling infrastructure, unfriendly business environment, almost a 30% population living below the poverty rate, unemployment above 8% and growing, corrupt politicians, one of the highest sales tax in the nation and that's just a good start on what the cause of the train wreck is but besides that Utica is in good shape because we have given millions to our brewery and distillers to keep us numb for a lifetime with an endless supply of drugs to keep us happy.

Very true. At the end of the day no mayor has been willing to change the way business is being done in Utica hence an empty village you have to keep filling it up with refugees and crooks from prisons just to keep the population above 55,000 to call it a city to get it's share of state funds. Out of a population of over a 110,000 in it's prime, I say maybe only 20,000-25,000 are originally from here and native hence you get what you get as far as keeping corruption alive and broke taxpayers paying the bills for the majority. The taxpayers are the minority and the democrats tax and spending is allowed by the few thousands that are the voting base and friends of those in power. There you have it, a dictator ship in a nut shell as far as Roefaro even wanted to do away with the party lines because there not necessary. We have a irrelevant council which the Mayor over-rides at every turn as does what he wants dictating by what the lawyers tells him he can get away with hence higher taxes and spending what you don't have which drives the trains deliberately into brick walls the taxpayers have to pay for if your dumb enough to stay which are the people few are far inbetween that aren't connected to the family and friends plans. Soon will be finished without a city manager to save taxpayers homes from being abandoned or foreclosed.

gosh, dr. phil where are you somebody took my meds and flushedall the pills down into the toilet. or should I say commode. either way I know you would only call it for what it is a shthole. which is exactly what utica new york is and will in all ways be. get with it dr. phil or should I say fairytale man who lives in a dream world what I write is truth and the uticans who blast the truth are frightened to hear the truth and are too stupid to try to change the city. you uticans as a whole have not worked together to try to improve the city till then people like my self will continue looking in on the outside thank god and continue to degrade your corrupt city.instead of lamblasting people with all your insults regarding your difference of opinion try listening and talking to your leaders to change to a better utica every city has a town hall do you people even know where it is?or do you hVE CITY HALL meetings open to citizens forum speak up and be heard.

Utica should go back to a two year term for mayor and get rid of that four year term that LaPOLLA PUT up and stupid voters voted on. They were told they needed a four yeat term to get things done because two years were too short. Yea look at all the things that were done since. WE need a two year term to throw a bum out if he isnt producing much like the last few mayors. Get a two year term on the ballot . Those were better days because it kept the mayor on his toes of he was out in two. Now they hang around for three years and the last year they make themselves look like their doing something

I agree with you 100%. If we could have stopped Roefaro just two years sooner union contracts would never had been padded, the safer grants which taxpayers will be on the hook for would never had been allowed, there would still be at least 7 million dollars left in the water board fund, we wouldn't be carrying a 6 million dollar debt, there would be no Chief Williams, and our taxes would be at least 30% lower than they are today. What a difference two years would have made if Santafaro could have been stopped when splurging with taxpayers money. If we can only turn back time we would be so much better off today.

Maybe he can pack a few bags for Dave Roefaro and take him with him to Washington and get him out the hell out of Utica. So, sick of seing this irrelevant cads face around. The man has no resume of success no where in his life with his high school diploma and bankrupting of Utica while trying to be a part-time mayor and full time funeral director.
