Do Not Work at ACS

I had a friend who worked there 4 years ago and made around $15. So, when I saw their open house sign I stopped in to apply. They made me fill out paper work for 45 min and then took me in for an interview. At this point they told me about how they pay which in turn made me leave.

ACS workers could be making minimum wage. Their wage is based on a tier system based on previous performance and goes like this: Tier 1=$1 per call, Tier 2=$.96 per call, and so on to Tier E=$.86 per call.

As a call center rep you are not guaranteed minimum amount of calls. You may only get enough to get minimum wage even though you are working.

A quick search and what do you know, LAWSUITS.

What a horrible place they turned into.

It's a true shithole. They pay on a piecework scale. Some BARELY make minimum. Don't count on feeding a family from that pay. They go thru ALOT of peeps.

I worked there for a very short time. It was truely a waste of time! I made absolutley nothing there! I was a top tier, got nothing but 100s on monitors. I did my job very well and, I barely made over minimum wage! They do not have enough calls coming in to hire as many employees as they do! It trashy and dirty in that place! They set there standard at a ridiculous high, but yet refuse to pay out for what it is they expect from there employees! The turn over rate is crazy! Its a horrible work enviorment!I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy! Good riddens!

I currently work at ACS and have been promoted several times. It's true when you start here you make piece-rate, as well you'll probaly be on the phones. When you start you start on a hrly wage depending on your skill. after a short while you'll go on piece-rate. I have been here 31/2 yrs
and now have an hrly position. There are weeks that the reps on the phone make a lot more than me.
This week the numbers came out and there is at least 10 people who did over 2000 calls last month.
Not only that but there are other things during your daily work that make you money, such is a dollar for every payment you take, and other varied tasks..........I stress this place is only for those who like working and can bust there ass. If you have good work ethics your bound to do real good. The writer of the first post is correct the average rep here makes $15.00 an hr after a few month. They are also correct in saying you could make minimum, Once again it depends on your work ethic. Above all as I look around at my peers I could tell you these are the greatest bunch of people. Everyone here is here to work.. but believe me we make time to play.. and last but not least the Head supervisor S.H, is a truely smart man I am proud to follow his lead and he has never steered me wrong....

My friend made that before they switched to that crappy pay system. ACS used to start you off at 12.75 an hr then got pay raises. Not anymore.

The problem is that you have no control over how many calls you get. One call could last a few minutes then another last 40 min.

It is all a bunch of BS. They are ripping off their employees.

I worked there when it was AFSA and was better. Still it is a crappy place to work. My advice is to get an education and get a real job. $15 an hour is not that great.

No just a worker, albeit a hard worker. This place is like financial college. The experience you gain here can lead to a great number of positions in the financial world. It just takes time to learn. There is always a bigger picture!!

I woprked there for 7 years.. the last 2 being on piece rate. I was NEVER on phones. Piece rate for processing deferments, etc.

I was only one of teh few who made around $15 an hour. I made that before piece rate and a little more after piece rate started.

The big thing is that yes, you can make money on piece rate, BUT at what cost? You begin to think to yourself.. is it worth going to the restroom. That 4 min break could cost me $xx.xx because if I just sat here, I would make money.

Also, they change how much they pay per piece of work you do based on the average of your dept. The avwerage pay was $9 an hour. So to make more than $9 an hour you have to work faster and more documents.

Here is the catch... let's say 80% of your dept is busting their ass and are making $15 an hour... guess what?? Thats now the new norm... so the # of pieces you had to process to make $15 n hour is now the norm and your paid at $9 an hour.

This is how its a trap. The stress level was unimaginable and I am much happier elsewhere.

Yeah OMG pretty much hit the nail on the head... and the stress level is extremely high. I will say this isn't for everyone. Overall I have to say this company has been good to me, once in awhile I have grievances too. The company has been fair to me, sometimes to my benifit sometimes not. There are many depts and each slighly diff in its policies. Like any big company though you must shine above the rest to advance and its important to make yourself a asset, If you don't care and your only at ACS for a paycheck ,work your 8 hrs and go home, chances are you'll remain as a sheep and won't advance

I work there and the stress level never bothers me. The people who are unable to perform their job at a decent speed quit. The rest of us, who are more qualified to quickly move through pieces, are fine. I only know a couple of people whose pay rate sucks, and it's because they're slow. If it bothered them that much, they'd go elsewhere. But they don't.

Maybe you all should go to APAC. Do a "quick search" on them and see what you come up with. Or you could look up McDonald's and see the lawsuits they've had, since clearly you base your opinions on lawsuits of which you have no knowledge of.

I started there in 1991 and left in 2000. I was promoted while I was there but found out that if I wanted to go up any further you had to kiss ass and be best friends with the boss. It doesn't matter if you are great at your job. People were getting promoted and would end up sitting in the boss's office looking at Avon catalogs instead of working. This place is a joke.

No, I probably don't. I know one person from that side, and that's only because I knew her before she was hired. I rarely even go to the cafeteria; I try to go somewhere for lunch so that I don't feel suffocated lol. It may not be fresh air, but it's not ACS air!:)

Wow! You DO get paid hourly lol...to praise them. I worked there for 11 years, and DID work my ass off until people (in your position) realized that the employees shouldn't be making more than those who get pay hourly so they decided to say we're all "universal reps" and throwing borrower service calls and the autodialer our way...no money there! And the QC people? Wow! They get off on taking points away...yea-because they were so perfect, I always wanted to know how they would do on the phones and have to be scored, and don't say they'd get a perfect score because that's why they are in the position they're in-HA! They make plenty of screw ups too! Oh by the way, the management (not naming any names) sucks too! They all have their head in the clouds...and it is not a financial college....it's a road to poverty, which makes you want to get the hell out of there and go to college.
