Too funny the way you people need to attack in order to feel better at the bottom of your oootican cistern.
I would give a lot away describing it to you, but proof is that even your OD is full of defensive shittalkers. When we insulted just about every celebrity, pol and news outlet for 3 weeks only the OD was petty enough to try to insult us back LMAO!! You people are genetically fucked up and petty beyond measure. It sticks out like a sore thumb to astute outsiders how thin-skinned, immature, unsophisticated, racist, ignorant, poorly educated and dirt poor you are. You wear it like clown makeup. Toodaloo loser! WHine loud so when I check back I get a good laugh!
Cretin and Cliffy both have "paid for 3 stall garages"....and it sounds like the babbling Cretin above has a black guy with a woody waiting for him in that garage......

Sad state of affairs when the opening of a sporting goods store (we already have several) in this area draws such a big crowd and so much attention. Implies the area does not have much going for it. Probably the same Saranac Thursday Nite crowd at Bass pro Shop. Nothing else to do, no job, no nothing...just hanging out waiting to hit all the highlites Utica has to offer. Sad, sad, sad...so sad.

There you to with your useless diatribe about your superiority. I'm sure you're sitting on your veranda with your playboy bunny for a wife, sipping brandy in your velour bathrobe.
Then again your most likely a SUNY educated dweeb who moved to NC and have found your calling as an IT professional at a bank. Yahtzee!!
Fortunately I choose to live here. Other than my wife and kids I have no family, it's the availability of outdoor activities that keeps me here. Not a hunter but still love BPS as they carry a lot of merchandise to feed my habit of being outside. Luckily I've been able to be quite successful in my career, not rich, but living comfortably...and I even have a 3 stall garage.

I was thinking the same thing. This is the same thing that happened when Olive Garden opened. I remember that someone who posted here said something like "it says a lot about how depressed this area is when we celebrate the ordinary".

In areas where they don't have very high taxes, union domination and the longest toll road in the US Interstate system businesses fight to get the most valuable parcels and new businesses open every week without benefit of taxpayer subsidies(bribes to come). That should be the normal we strive for rather than it being normal to make such a big deal about a chain store or restaurant coming here.

I was at the opening last night. It was good to see. I was even interviewed by WFXV news. It's about time they brought in a store of interest, demand and significance besides Walmart. Perfect location for it too. I almost feel bad for Gander. They'll likely close up shop in a year or two now. Philipsons will also take a hit, but I see them surviving. Now, if they'd only put up a Texas Roadhouse or Quaker Steak and Lube right there we'd be all set. When Nano center is finished those places will soar.

I love it. Just a simple post about a new store opening up, and the people on here are already bashing each other. If people want to go to the store, so be it. What business is that of yours ? LOL You stayed home, and watched it on tv anyway. ha ha ha It's an awesome store... lots of trophy bucks on the wall, fish tank, huge selection of fishing rods... things that sportsmen are looking for. Nice to see a different selection. So, go on with your complaining. I will be at the store tonight getting a couple things. Hope that pisses you off too !! Oh, and I have a job, professional. But, I still like to fish and hunt. That, by the way, requires you to get off your lazy ass and step into the wild. lol

Idiots! There is no health care in the wild, so they won't bother. You and I both know that the vast majority of outdoorsmen and outdoor sportsmen, etc, actually work hard for a living and get away to the country outdoors as often as possible. It's near impossible without having a job since doing so anymore is NOT cheap. Lots of country boys, but lots of "city woodchucks" too! Check this out for proof: http://citywoodchuck.com/ My ex girlfriend's ex boyfriend works with the original "city woodchuck" himself.

Has anyone wondered how so many working age men were able to be a Bass Pro Shops during the daytime? And don't tell me they all have night jobs either!

Half the reason this area has such a bad reputation is exactly what has been going on in this topic. Unhappy people feeling the need to dump on anything positive and try to suck the good out of life to mirror their own pathetic existence. It makes me wonder if they applied and didn't get the job there. With the traffic up 12 from Jersey and NYC during the summer and winter months, BPS is in the PERFECT location to rake in some major sales. I hope for nothing but the best success for BPS, and for all the dumpers, local and not, why not try to find something positive to say rather than wallow in your own cesspool.

I'm an East Utica wop.
I don't hunt and I fish a little to appease the grandchildren.
I went today and here's what I experienced.
I saw husbands and wives shopping together.
I saw no refugees in ceremonial garb.
I saw no EBT cards.
I saw some beards but no tattoos.
I saw no fake tans and fingernails to die for.
I saw nobody pushing a cart while mindlessly talking on the phone.
I saw women who could cook a meal.
I saw men who could help you if you were in trouble.
I saw knowledgeable courteous store personnel.
I spent a little under 100.00 and will be a frequent customer.
Maybe they'll make me an honorary redneck.
I''ll be the guy sitting by the fire.

Have you ever been to Best Buy or Barnes and Noble in the Middle of the day?
Oh I forgot.
