Best Italian restaurant in Utica?

Didn't Ventura's jump the shark years ago?

Would probably be useful, too, to distinguish (as "Utica pride" has suggested) between true "fine dining" establishments & the more pedestrian joints one might visit to score a decent plate of pasta & sauce after bowling league (and, perhaps, lay down a couple of "unauthorized" sports bets before returning home). "Atmosphere" DOES matter.

Tony Sparagnas (sorry if the spelling is off) has great Italian food. The price of the food you cannot beat. They have excellent chicken and veal parm. They by far are the best for Italian food.

Tony Sparagna's is less than mediocre. Cannot compare to the real Italian restaurants we have in our area.

Is that an Italian specialty?

Show me the sauce. ;-)

Not sure Utica even has a respectable Italian restaurant anymore. At least a couple of places in the boondocks have much better food/service/atmosphere than you can find within city limits.

That price is to get u in there. Everything is charged ala carte. With drinks, substitutions, desserts, you are well-over $25!

I can remember when they opened the price was $12.99!

I have to agree, the best place around is Gabriel's Trattoria. Very excellent menu that distinguishes it from any other place around, and the specials are always incredible. I eat there a lot and have never been disappointed.

After that I vote Chesterfield's, but Gabriel's is my top choice by far.

If you think Demonico's is an Italian Restaurant, you must be from Southern California! Just because they play Frank Sinatra doesn't make it Italian. It's a Steakhouse!
Places like Joey's, Joe's, Chesterfield.... places like that are Italian Restaurants....

Pescatore's was GREAT! That's where I first fell in love with Riggie's. Never been to Georgio's.... line has always been WAY too long and I don't like to wait!

How about Tony Sparagna's. They have been around for along time and have great Italian food and it is still run by the same family

Joey's on the corner of Mohawk and Lansing St in Utica. Very good prices, good lunch specials, big portions. Nice , simple little neighborhood place.
Delmonico's is good, not great, but good. They use way to much Garlic on every dish, even when you ask them to go light..

Joe who? What restaurant did he run, or is running? I wonder what happened to Joe from Pescatores? I love that Restaurant. We came all the way down from Boonville to eat there. Only good place in Boonville to eat is the Boonville Hotel.
