More off topic information......
If you are talking about the first known people to inhabit what is now known as Mexico, they were actually the Olmecs. The Maya came later, along with Aztecs and several other tribes.
The heritage of today's Mexicans has traditionally been taught that it is a marriage between the Spanish conquerors and the Native Americans who were there before.
"While Mexico has welcomed many other immigrants to its shores, the majority of its population descends from the Spanish, the Indians, or are of mixed Spanish and Indian heritage (mestizos). Blacks and some Asians are also part of the Mexican population." http://genealogy.about.com/od/mexico/a/record...
Here is a good article of how "Mexico" came to be.

The United States of Mexico was formed in 1821. Before that the region was known as New Spain, and the people of the area were not referred to as "Mexicans" until this time.
So when kama used the term "Mexican" in the post that started this ridiculous argument, he evidently meant the native people of what today we refer to as Mexico....I'm guessing. My bad for not being able to read his mind.
I hope that clears up any confusion here. I apologize if I wasn't more clear in my statements before.
Thanks for the childish and nasty comments though, kama and GBA.
So what you`re basically saying is that Mexicans are mongrels?,genetic trash?

Well, Dolph, I guess if you look at it that way, most people are genetic trash. The longer time goes on, the more that becomes truth. Eventually, the majority of American individuals will be some mixture of black and white.
