there are lots of reasons why someone would want to live in springfield. for starters, it's not too big, but not too small. there is almost never any traffic. there are 10 Chinese restraunts. it is quiet. the people are relatively friendly compared to places like boston, canada, or europe. springfield is also cheap to live in, as in rent, or buying a house. i dont see how you can kill people for a living, and then call springfield "depressing".

who would want to move to springfield? crime is out of control. property taxes are outrageous, the school system is broke and failing.it`s not safe to walk the streets at night in even the so called good neighborhoods.the town is now on par with the worst areas of dayton, such as 3rd. street.
whats outrageous here is not property taxes, but where the taxes go to, ie the military industrial complex, where capitalist corporations can create fictitious threats and drain the tax revenue for their own greedy purposes

I have lived in Springfield for most my life. Never had a chance to travel outside of Ohio sad I know but for the most part Springfield is a good place to live some crim, rarly big crim. People are nice & respectful to others for most part. Since we are a low income city prices on food, entertainment, shopping & more are lower than most cities.
I am still working on taking trips outside of Ohio but I say living wise Springfield isn't bad at all compared to other cities in Ohio. GREENFIELD,Ohio is worse then any other in Ohio that I have noticed, bad for drugs & hussling big drugs.. meth, harion, mixing pills, cock, crack.
Only bad thing I have to say about Springfield,OH is employment & businesses rates arn't good/reliable. Ya never know if you will have a job the next day b/c business come & go & employers are always looking for people who will work for less. Once found your gone!!!

The dirty field is what it is... depressing..run down..boring..drug filled...crime..sexual deviants..wannabe gangsta white people who have kids young live on the system and claim their balling.Meth heads...prostitutes..crooked cops and sheriffs..no good jobs or colleges..no good recreational activities.a melting pot of hopelessness and confusion, low incomes and lower moral. These parents are young and ghetto why wouldn't their kids follow suit?

Clark County is very poor, a lot of welfare and
illegal aliens. Anybody that has a decent job works
in Dayton suburbs or Columbus. The only people
who make a decent wage here works for the government.
If you want to make any money here, sell heroin.

Want to meet a typical resident of Springfield?
Meet Scott Gallop of 3910 Kimberly Dr. in Northridge.
He sells drugs to anyone at the County Line Carryout
to supplement his disability. Typical trash!

I'm getting pissed off of the bashing of this city and grouping EVERY person that lives here as piece's of shit. I am 30 and have lived here all of my life. I don't sell drug's I don't work for the government I don't work at McDonald's or Walmart. There are still jobs here. You just have to get off your ass and LOOK and get your hands dirty.
I agree the fact that there are plenty of immigrants and people who don't contribute to society. But there are a ton of really descent honest people that live here. May not be for everybody but overall it is not a BAD place to live or raise a family. Doing it right now.

Easy answer: Arts, recreation and low cost of living. Even the Navy can understand that!

Are you all serious, the fifth highest crime rate per capita in ohio, near the end of the list in education despite all the newer schools, a heroin epidemic that the police don't seem to care about ( sheriff Kelly is too busy busting marijuana growers and having sex with his deputy's wives) and how many shootings this year? Dole shuts down with a listeria outbreak, 1.5 million for brown water rafting down Buck Creek (a place I wouldn't even swim in) a new hospital with an average wait time of 3 hours, a community college with an 8% graduation rate. Should I go on trust me I can all day. Why don't I leave? I will as soon as I can never to look back at this **** hole again you'll know when I've left the " welcome to Springfield" sign will also say " don't expect much"

This is the most dumb ass thing I've ever read in my life. You represent Springfield beautifully you moron. 10 Chinese restaurants and no traffic...lol...that's living!!! What a dick for the "kill people for a living" comment to.

You're right, it's not a bad place to raise a family. It's a horrible place.....now. And it's decent, not descent. Wtf are you talking about when you say immigrants anyway?
