First off, do some research and ask how to properly spell the name of the breed. Second, please do a follow up on the temperament, drive and difficulty in owning a breed like this. These are high drive active dogs who will do well in a family only if they have a job to do on a daily basis. They are not dogs that can be left outside ignored or left in the house alone with nothing to do. As pups they need to be heavily socialized with people and other dogs. Their temperament can range anywhere from aggressive to shy and fearful. Only those with a stable temperament will and can be used for military or police work. They need at a minimum basic obedience training. They are not aggressive dogs, just active dogs who love to be around their humans. There are too many of them in the American Belgian Malinois Club rescue list already. All you guys have done is encouraged people to get a dog like this. You are not even sure it was this breed of dog that was used. For those interested in learning more about the breed go to AKC.org or http://www.malinoisclub.com/abmc/

How utterly humiliating for a Muslim that considers dogs "unclean" to be shot to death with a pooch chewing at his leg . You got to respect the pooch Omar ! May peace be upon him.

Thank you...very interesting and helpful inofrmation. I wonder if this was the breed of the dog who bit the kid in the other Dispatch Dog article today.... I hope people don't run out and blow the rent money on a dog to be like the Osama fighters.
