The Paradice was down around Rose or Rice St. The bar was on one side and a laundra mat on the other. buldg. is still there. I think it's a church now. the Disco on 68 ( name escapes me) is now the 402 union hall. It had the same problem as the Twilight Club on lower valley pk. The cops would be close watching for people to leave, so they quit going. How about the Amble Inn on S.Limestone? lewis's Corner, Clock cafe? 7 Seas, Johnnys, White Front, Sportsman Club? Elbo Room, Moms, all on W. Main.

I remember the 7 seas. The building still sits there. Remember going in there while my dad threw darts. And yeah that building is still there from the Paradise. I think it is on the corner of Rose and Clifton maybe. Have to pay attention next time I drive by. Was Whitey's bar something else back then Harleyman?

Hey gang, just got back in town. Yes, Ezel, Ky I knew Sheery well. After she divorced Danny Cottrell she married Guy Worthington. She got cancer and died quite a few years ago. Marge passed away years ago also. She ended up in the hospital and turned the Nite Owl over to her son Larry to run. When she got out he wouldn't let her have it back. He essencially stole it. She ended up in the Odd Fellows Nursing Home on McCreight where her daughter Barb and granddaughter Terry worked until she died. I just remembered that the disco on 68 was the Toy Tiger. yes I slammed plenty in Cure the Blues. I use to frequent the OLD Dutch Gardens also until Jr.Hook did the switch. How about the Hop? Moms ? Also see Peteie every once in a while. Man he looks weird with gray hair. Rosie use to be the prettiest wthin on the west end but the Manard girls were more fun. lol

I must have some years on you Mike. First time I hooked up with Janet I was 15, she was 13 and had moves a 25 year old would envy. janet had a son get killed in a hit skip several months ago. X prosecutor Jim Berrys grandson did it but has yet to be charged. Springfield has and does live by the Golden Rule. That being if you got the gold you can make the rules. Teddy Bowshier lived beside the Nite Owl. I grew up and ran with all the older boys, Buddy, Billy Joe and Teddy. I bought my first car from Taylor. All of us kids were Taylors pit crew when he was still racing. How about Shough's Bakery on West Main. Mike did you know Donna Kennedy? Chet & Sis's daughter.

I'd forgotten all about Donna. When I knew her, I think she was still in school. Seems like she would be doing homework behind the counter. I was too young to hit the bars when I lived there, but I was served in one when I was 15. I forget the name or even where it was, but it was a corner bar on a side street. High school guys hung out there. The only Bowshier I knew was Jerry. He may have owned a used car lot. He hung around the pool room(my home away from home)at Park Terrace Lanes. I remember him having a $1000 bill that he would flash every now and then.

Chuck Henderson did the shooting. That was the old Night Owl in the Hausk Bldg. formerly the Atlas. J&R was on the corner of Pleasant and East. Lantern is still there and open. Chuck is dead, his son runs it now. It's a gay bar or very close. Rabbits was formerly the Cat& Fiddle, it's torn down now. Dan & Dees is an old folks home. Same old drunk in the same old seat day after day. Anchor Inn has been gone for years. They had a few killings also. If you go to the Stein don't hold the door open, they get pissed if you let all the flys out. Blue Monday , originally Arnolds is also torn down.

Donna would indeed do her homework at the counter. She had an older sister that was xtra hot. I never knew her name. Jerry Bowshier had car lots, the last one was on Burnett Rd and Columbus Ave. He's dead now. He was a cousin to the other Bowshiers. Moons Cafe was on E.Main almost to the water tower. A little mom and pop place. The Clock Cafe had good food. They had the old ice cream parlor chairs and tables. I could drink all over the west end at 15. Mostly a bunch of old farts owned the bars and they couldn't tell whether a guy was 13 or 23 or else didn't care.lol Of course the drinking age then was 18. No idea where Sherry is buried. I don't remember Lee Kelsey. The last person I can remember Marge being married to was Wendy Ware.
