Salamanca Mayor: There's No Money to Fix Bridge

Full story: WGRZ-TV Buffalo

Where do you find the money? Do you ask taxpayers? It's tough to get around parts of Salamanca because there are now two bridges closed to traffic, including the bridge on Center Street. via WGRZ-TV Buffalo

Just do like the Thruway does, put toll booths on both sides of the bridge and start charging a toll to cross it and just jack up the tolls if you need more money......

been down Clinton St lately?
Let the Nation run the city. Pond is just a puppet anyway. How many times are they going to repave Broad St til they get it right?
Maybe the people running E'vile could come on over and give our city some lessons. Maybe we could get our streets fixed in time for ScumFest 08... I mean the Falling Leaves Festival.. yeah, that's what I meant. LOL LOL

Has anyone been up Fair Oak Street lately? If you go on that street be very very careful or you will have very costly vehicle repairs.

What, the Senecas can't toss a little casino profits to the city of Slamanca so they can fix a bridge? Gimme a break. EVERY seneca gets a profit check, there's more than enough to fix a bridge.

exactly like Rezidentofsalamanca said the nation has give the state and city money, so why should ALL of the nations profit go to the city and state?

Obviously T4ADay is a complete moron, or some 12 year old with no friends and his first pimple to pop. EXACTLY why parents need to monitor their kids 'net activity. The streets in Salamanca are HORRENDOUS! It's not the Nation's job to fix the streets, it's the CITY'S!
It's like the bridge, they knew about that over 10 years ago.
Salamanca is a pathetic little area.
It's a good thing the west end is getting built up, there IS no Salamanca downtown anymore. What is around Main is run down and gross.

Besides the fact that the nation has already given money we pay taxes. Where is that money? Umm, maybe we are "planning" something else for the city instead off fixing the streets.

The Nation lies in the MIDST of the USA, not on its own disassociated island. Let them pay.

Why doesn't the casino pay for the bridges?
They could probably gold plate them.

Ya know. It is us that took away the Native lands. It is us that are living on Native lands now. There are quite a few of us that get along with our Native brothers, and, sisters. Yes, the roads ARE horrifically terrible!! Doesn't matter which road that you go down, you are bound to end up with some kind of car repair. I'm waiting for the West State St to slide down the hill. As is usual in a case like that, someone is going to get seriously hurt because of their car(s) sliding down the embankment when it does. What has the city been doing with their share of the Casino's revenue? I actually believe that both parties (Salamanca & The Nation) should be responsible for the repairs. Ya know? Life is really way to short to be bigoted. I have a sister-in-law that is Native, and, am very proud of it. Same as with my nephews, and, neice. Let's wake up people.

Some of the roads in this city belong to the state such as Clinton and Broad. I m not sure about West State though. If the nation has already paid money to the city and the state, I feel that they shouold fix them, dont you?

Rezident....you make a good point. Someone in the Streets department should take ACTION before you lose your axle on a shoddy "road".

Potholes arrive every spring, its not like this is an unexpected wrinkle.

It doesn't matter if this is the reservation or not that is still no excuse for the roads to be fixed.. No other town around here can say oh it is all the indians, oh take the profit from casino...blah blah... How were (or weren't) the roads fixed before? The funds had to come from somewhere..

Daily Horoscope for January 8

Sagittarius

You'll feel friendly with everyone you meet today, and you might even be lucky financially. Money should be coming in, but going out rather fast as well... Astral influences will keep you on your toes, and will probably make you flirtatious, but they could also make you moody. This makes it tricky for close relationships to run on an even keel. The truth is, perhaps you don't want too much closeness at the moment. Your partner probably knows that you're often like this, by now, anyway.
