New Fire and Rescue Building?

Why isn't being used? Is it finished yet?

The land was purchased and the building started with FED. infastructure grant money part used for this part for city streets the money ran out the city is currently trying to secure the rest of the money to complete the builing now

How do you know are you a member of the Fire Dept. Do you risk your life to save others? Have you washed and loaded hose when it is 5 degrees outside then tried to put in back on the truck? Have you ever even seen the inside of the old firehouse leaking roof sagging floor poor plumbing heating system junk and not even in 2 parts of the building. Has anyone ever heard of the future while build something that you can't even use in a few years all fire engines are bigger than they were in 1950's if we did get a new enigine it would not fit in the old building. COME ON OUT VOLUNTEER PUT YOUR LIFE ON THE LINE FOR OTHERS THEN YOU CAN TALK ABOUT WHAT WE NEED.

I dont think you need to worry about gettin a bigger truck, if you cant even get money to pay to finish the building.
Yes, I commend you all who do the crap job that no one wants to do.BUT, the building is a bit dramatic, a bit too big. CMON. BOnnieville has a decent, SMALLLER building and it works fine, anddd they use it for community meals and such.

Sorry. The fact that the firehouse is huge and hasnt been used and most of the community will never see the inside of it isnt fact enough, I guess.

You know what should have happened??? A smaller fh was built, or the old one upgraded and added on to, and then storm sirens could have been placed out sporadically. I'm 5 mins outside of town and we have no sirens here.
BUT. It'd be more important to have a place to store a bigger truck that upton may or may not ever have.

What really gets me is people rant and rave about stuff they know absolutely nothing about! If you want to complain about the firehouse step up and go to a city counsel meeting. Find out what is going on in YOUR city. Some people just want to think about the hear and now. Mabye they build the firehouse bigger so incase we had a natural disaster we would have a place to go. Did you happen to thank any of the Volunteer Fire fighters back in the ice storm for what they did. Staying out in the freezing cold clearing road, checking on people, taking kerosene to the ones that were in need...... No let's just bitch and complain and set back and provide nothing for our community!! These guys get no money for risking their lives. One day you or someone you know will be in need of their service (hopefully not though), then let's see how bad you put down that they have a new firehouse, great equipment...... One day the time will come when we will have the need for larger trucks, bigger equipment. Mabye not today or tomorrow.

The old fire house was just to small for their equipment for one and another not enough room for the fire trucks. One more thing it was way past due for an overhaul. Now with the new building they have all the room they need. Yes it is bigger but what's wrong with that? Are they not entitled to having something more updated and reliable....after all they do volunteer and put their life on the line for us when needed. So if that's all they ask for what right do we have to complain about the 'size'?
Im thankful to them and support them 110%. They should get a metal for what they do or at least a thank you instead of people on here wanting to complain about the size of the new fire house.

Hold on...I'm still simply asking what remains to be done on the building and how much budget shortfall is there? Would that be known publicly,there are community ways to raise funds through group sales, raffles, going to local representatives for further funding information. I could care less if the building were twice as big and purple, just want to see it used and finished. Yanno?

everyone that has something to say about the new fire house really dose not know how long these guys has been waiting for this. you know once the new fire house is done then they might be able to put on events for the community. but if anyone has see in the old fire house there is no room for the community to fit in the dept. really it would not even be safe for the hole community to all be in it at once. but all of these guys are there for the community if they needed them so just give it time and sees what happens. it will be done and done right.
