Md. county names elementary school after Obama

The Prince George's County school board has voted to name an Upper Marlboro elementary school after President Barack Obama.

I can appreciate the sentiment but it is too early to start naming buildings and places after him. Allow President Obama to finish the presidency, then like all the others you can name airports, municipal buildings and schools after him. He is a page maker in the history books, but allow him the whole chapter FIRST!
The school is in my neighborhood. My daughter and I thought that Marlboro Elementary School would have been nice and generic.

Fortunately or otherwise these are not nice and generic times: certainly not a nice and generic Presidency as evinced by the tone of Town Hall Meetings and declinations to have America's school children exposed to a positive opportunity to see their U.S. President. I applaud both New York and PG County for their forward steps. Unfortunately, for many Americans we continue to be what we were.
