Does anybody know what this building is/was for in Upper Darby? It's on Samson Street...I forget what the plaque says out front of it -- McCarthy Building or something like that.
It's huge, and I always walk past it. It looks abandoned but also pretty old. Anybody have any information?

Not Sansom St. Sansom is up by the McDonalds. The McClatchy building is on 69th between Market & Ludlow. McClatchy was the contractor who built most of the eastern parts of Upper Darby. Mainly the Cardington-Stonehurst, and Bywood areas. Those are the neighborhoods that surround 69th St. basically. The McClatchy Real Estate Company was in business for many years. They may still be for all I know.

I know what the McClatchy building is. Click on the link I provided and you will see this is not the McClatchy building. This is on Sansom Street in Upper Darby.

My mom used to take me to see my pediatrician, the late Dr. Frank Bender back in the 50's, who had his office in the McClatchy Building. The elevators were run by operators and had the bronze collapsible gates. Building is still there and is undergoing or has undergone renovations.

It is an old Bell telephone building. It is owned by a man named Howard Seivert. He owns/operates a credit collection agency in that building. It is now called the Seivert Building. I know it well. I serviced the HVAC systems in that place. It is well maintained and cared for.

It is not the McClatchy building.

I believe you. You must be pale white trash, since you are a blue collar dog who works on heating systems.

No one would admit to doing that for a living if it wasn't true.

Do you have your first name sewed onto your coveralls?

Well Mr. Wizard. Why the insults? I didnt notice any arrogant remarks in my post? Just identifying a building that I know.

It is o.k. People like you still have to pay people like me to fix your equipment. As a company owner I make very good money. Probably more than you. And I enjoy what I do.

Pennsylvania Institute of Technology occupied that building in the late 70s and thru the 80s until they moved to the old Notre Dame De Lordes in Media. I went to PIT at the UD location and worked at the Media one.

This lowlife scum imageines itself as superior. Anyone that boasts superiority is extremely insecure with its place in life. Those jobs are necessary. Let those with such high opinions of themselves do their own repairs/ upkeeps.

Always verbally attacking whites. Go in your basement and get a rat and cook yourself a ratburger. So out of touch with the world around you. Many blacks have risen above from where you're still at.
