Hello! I was hoping someone could help me, knows anything or just agree with me! something very disturbing happened to me on Preston Rd @ the Park Cities YMCA. It was around 3:15pm today- Saturday May 2nd when my husband and I were traveling south on Preston Rd during the sudden torrential rain (yes the same rain that made the Cowboy practice facility collapse). Luckily my husband was driving about 5 mph when (at the intersection of Preston and Shenandoah) a middle age man wearing a white t-shirt, hat and shorts with two young children- if memory serves me correct- a young boy and girl around 4-8 years of age- RAN into ongoing traffic with his children in tote causing the Northbound traffic to stop as well as my husband and I. Luckily we saw him and were able to stop without hitting him. However the cars in the lane to right of us did not see them and did not stop. He somehow got safely across the street when we got hit from behind. At the point the rain is so heavy it was hard to see our white car stopped in the middle of the road even though the person that hit us was breaking. After the impact I immediately rolled down my window and yelled for the guy to stop- I wanted him to give a testimony to the police. The man looked and saw the wreck he had caused and ran west bound on Shenandoah. The police came and filed a report- everyone is OK- however I feel terrible that this accident is 'officially' the persons fault who rear ended us and her or her insurance will have to replace my rear bumper all because this ignorant man had a serious lapse in judgment and ran into oncoming traffic with his young children (30 feet from the cross walk..). I know the police are not looking for this man- I just hope that he is 100% aware of this selfish actions that caused innocent people much trouble, pain and money.
