What happened to John and Sherry Rivers? Are they okay?

It must have been something aweful. I would think if it were a sickness, K-LOVE would be asking for our prayers. If it were a relative, they would ask for prayers with that, too. With 'almost' anything, they would be asking for prayers. But K-LOVE has deleted them entirely from their website!! Whatever it is, it must be horrible. I can't imagine what could be that bad or that shameful as to "delete" them like that. I once saw a picture of Lexie that I thought resembled a picture of a kid I saw on one of those missing kid websites...but the age didn't quite match up...so nah...surely it wasn't that...?? Maybe it was a money thing?? I'll just keep them all in my prayers. I'm sure whatever happened will come out sooner or later. I so loved listening to them. They brought so many smiles to my face day after day. God be with them...

The only thing i can think of is an affair or divorce. Thats something that would cause them to delete them off the website. As to not condoan those actions. They did say they needed to sort out family issues. I cant imagine either one doing that, but like the previous comment said, had it been anything else they would have just asked for prayers. They cant just leave like this....what happened?

Um, can we please get off the notion that their removal from the site is because they're shamed, or that KLove doesn't condone something they did? If they're no longer working or KLove OBVIOUSLY they're not going to be listed as a staff member! DUH! I mean, seriously folks. It said "Family Problems." They very well could have gone through a divorce, or maybe they had to move. Sometimes people need to quit their jobs and live with a relative who might be unable to live without assistance. But for pete's sake, seriously, everyone, their deletion from the site is because they don't WORK THERE ANYMORE. Jeez.

It seems like they would throw out a website somewhere to thank the listeners or just fill them in. Not me personally, but some people really do develop relationships with on air personalities.

You don't have to be so ugly. No matter what has happened, some of us who have listened to them for years honestly are concerned about what is going on. No matter what has happened, I for one will always be grateful for the blessing they have brought to my life. I'm praying for you Jon and Sherry.

U dont just listen to some one on the radio for 7 years and not start feeling like u know them on a personal level. Im worried about them. My comment about divorce was just that, a comment, thats what sites like this are for. Why are u rude. We just feel like we have lost some family and have no idea why. Usually when people leave a job, or move or something, they say goodbye. They usually also tell others about it ahead of time. So the suddenness of their departure is unusual. And Jon and Sherrie are not the type of people are very communicative, friendly, personable people, so it's very unusual that they have just suddenly left with no goodbyes or explanation. It is not really fitting with their personalities.

And for them to leave a job that they clearly loved very much and have devoted their lives to for the past many years... that also is very unusual. It must be something very serious; otherwise, I think there would've been more explanation and goodbyes. I am really sad (and shocked) to see them go but hope that things will be worked out for good in their lives.

Yes, the suddeness of it is what's so alarming.

I remember a couple weeks ago, waking up and hearing Jon apologizing and asking forgiveness for becoming angry about something. He said he just couldn't believe people could act this way, with the economy as bad as it is.

Did anyone else hear this???

It makes me wonder if it has something to do with their show being removed? But still, you'd think they would have been given a chance to say goodbye.

i too heard them in the mornings and i am wondering why they are not on the air any longer.

they want their privacy, i understand that, but i want to know why the sudden departure?

It is bizarre that no one is saying anything other than "family issues" and "respect their privacy". I can understand that were it just oridinary folks, but they are "celebrities" of sorts and now all the gossip, rumours and speculation will float around. If I were them I'd just say it and be done with it. As Christians we would understand, pray and forgive. Even if it were something horrible like infidelity or if they did something illegal in their adoption or they got foreclosed on etc etc...anyway pray that God will reveal the truth because that is what it says in the bible "the truth will set you free"

If it was a business decision, they may have had a gag order, which wouldn't be unusual... maybe contractual issues. It probably ending sourly, as they were not given the opportunity for goodbyes, and were taken off the website lightening fast! Hopefully it was something like this and not something more serious.

If it were a business decision having to do with making salary or employee cuts, then the owner totally deceived the audience by saying it had to do with "family" issues. So, I hope it wasn't a "business decision;" otherwise, the owner has lied. So, I'm believing it wasn't a business decision and believing that he wasn't lying but that it does have to do with "family" (which is what he explained... that they needed to take care of "family" issues or problems).

It sounded more like it was a decision made by Jon and/or Sherrie. My first thought was their marriage is in trouble, which I hope is not the case, but I'm sure that it'll eventually "get out" because they are very well-known in the Christian music business. I'm sure they are handling it the way they feel best.

I think the suddeness of it all is what has everyone so shocked. And it's just so out-of-character for them, from what we know of them from all these years they have been on air.

I looked here for answers...... instead all I found was horrible speculations and people attacking each other. I think we all need to pray as much for each other as Jon and Sherry.

I checked out their facebook and it had some of the nice messages there as well. I heard the news this afternoon. It is really sad because I live in a dreary climate and they cheer me up. I am so much like Sherry bragging on my kids and not wanting to deal w/all the technology. Is it our human nature that we want to know? Some have said they are celebrities and such but does that give us the right to know?
Maybe KLOVE is hurting from the economy as much as anyone else and couldn't pay them or something. In some ways that would be a KLOVE family decision? I wish them the best. Keep them in prayers.

I have been searching the net. I found a video of John and Sherry at a festival. The weird thing was when I went to play it it was disabled and the message was something like disabled by request. A guy named Steve was interviewing them and he had a gimmick of buck teeth. This is very weird. It is like every detail of their life for the past week has been erased. Nothing could be so bad that we as Christians cannot forgive.
