I can't believe anyone could think the LCPD is in "good shape". Even those that work there know what a disaster it is. This is just another example of the city manager trying to portray himself as doing a good job when the truth is FAR from that. If the current and new members of the Council want to stick around they need to see that changes need to be made at the TOP!

Geoarge Bush believes he left the USA in good shape too. I guess if you tell yourself the same lies over and over, eventually you believe them. It doesn't matter with with this slob of a human being, he's gone!!!!! Bradley is part of his posse and whoever gets hired will also be part of it too. It's typical business here in Las Cruces.

Parra is leaving because romero is not there to protect him...Bradley is an honorable man and police officer. I respect his decision to stay on and not leave the department in a lurch. It is the City Manager that needs to leave...this is only one of many departments that a mess....wise up city council, or resign, people want change NOW...not FOUR YEARS from now when you run for re-election.

Sure they are in good shape. Chief makes over 100 grand a year for sitting on a fat ass and ignoring people complaining about fascist group he is supposedly runing. That's pretty good shape.

The department is in good shape when you compare them to the lc resident who was tased seven times,(twice)in the head by LCPD. The thin-blue-lie will never die in LC.

Does this person have a name? I'm always suspicious when anecdotal stories like this emerge with no other details. LCPD officers have to document each time a taser is used (the taser's circuitry records all usages so even if the officer failed to document it, the taser would). BTW- I believe most LCPD tasers have the tasercam attachment, so innappropriate usage is that much easier to catch. Officers that misuse their equipment and/or abuse suspects are disciplined and can be terminated. Buenogirl wrote: Parra is leaving because romero is not there to protect him.... Couldn't the real story behind Romero's and Parra's retirement be simply that they've been with the LCPD for 36 and 27 years respectively, and they simply want to enjoy the retired life? LCPD retirement maxes out at 22 years / 10 months- any time worked beyond that does not go to increased retirement benefits. The goal of working for an agency that has a retirement plan is to eventually retire, or so they tell me. All you are trying to prove in your wanna be scientifical lingo is that you simply don't know very much...."Officers that misuse their equipment and/or abuse suspects are disciplined and can be terminated."...what kinda gay horseshit is that??? Terminated unless chief himself is a nazi and loves to hear about abuse and torture. After department has been criticized by an outside investigators, I'm sure you never heard of that and we have to bring you an evidence, Romero simply denied it. His loyal pigs just few letters ago added that only substantiated claims count, Meaning you can complain all you want they don't care. They know whats right and your opinion doesn't metter. Of course they do. That is just what pigs do, they know better how we want them to behave. They are the heros of radar detector, and masters of seatbelt violations, just born heros.

..and by the way i don't care what some Godwin, who has never been to Las Cruces, doesn't even know where it is, never met me, think about me based on some horseshit game with local piggs, I didn't need to go to Universities to learn about life from people who don't know half as much as they would like to believe.

As long as you are connected, you are good. If you come from a low-income family or are recently immigrated from another country (legally or illegally) you are toast. The only way out of this is to simply put your pretty girlfriend to drive through their checkpoints and you will be ok. Trust me, i see them salivate and they let you through. For us guys, well then u have to be a cop or gay cop's lover or something. Not that there is anything wrong with being gay.

I wasn't trying to sound like either, thanks. My comment to you was merely pointing out that both Romero and Parra (and Bradley for that matter) maxed out on their retirement earnings long ago, and it shouldn't be a surprise that they are retiring. I wasn't attacking you, just pointing out a more likely reason for Parra's retirement. PS- Tiberius Julius Caesar Augustus is usually just called "Tiberius"; the guy we all know as "Julius Caesar" (AKA Gaius Julius Caesar) is an entirely different dude.
