This is a great program, which I use daily. The problem is, getting the teachers to actually post the grades. My son has one teacher inparticular, who only posts once every 3-4 weeks. That's especially stressful towards the end of the 9 weeks, and you're not sure where your kid stands. It wouldn't be so bad if it were an elective, but this is a core class. All of his other teachers do a fantastic job at keeping things as close to real time as they are able. So it's frustrating that this one teacher can't seem to get on board. Hope she gets with it soon.

I agree...it is a great tool not only for parents, but for the students when they forget what homework they have or which test is coming up that they need to study for.

But, it is frustrating when you have one teacher who doen't post things in a timely manner. That is when the email tool with Teacher Ease comes in handy. Send the teacher an email asking for a progress report. Teacher's check their emails at least once a day and are usually very good about responding the same day.

I love that I can go home and ask the kids, "hey, got any homework" and they can't lie to me now.

The TeacherEase system should be renamed to "Show me the Fs" ... because it only shows you after-the-fact grades, versus what tonights homework is. You only find out what the homework WAS, and often 2-3 weeks later.

I would like to see LCPS change the way the system is used, to having teachers post current assignments on the day they are assigned. This does not necessarily lift any responsibility from students (teachers typically counter that "students need to be responsible for their assignments"), but rather it allows parents to help their kids succeed. And that's what everyone wants, no?

Hopefully LCPS didn't actually pay for TeacherEase. Instead they should be getting paid BY TeacherEase for helping to identify the many weaknesses of this beta software.

I love Teacherease. Makes my life so much easier. I've been using it for six years now and have yet to find any problems.
As far as knowing what the assignment is for the day, every middle school student was furnished an agenda which is to be used for that purpose. Let's put SOME of the responsibility on the student.

They should have parent ease so teachers can check on parents and students at home to see if they are doing their job. The ones who complain are the ones that don't get involved in their childs education and need someone to blame for their mistakes as parents and students.

Daily Horoscope for December 23

Gemini

You're in a very erratic mood today, making you restless, edgy and nervy. It may be almost impossible to settle to anything for long, because, as Mercury slows, you soon lose interest. If life becomes boring you'll want to liven it up in some way and it's likely you'll choose the most disruptive and controversial option you can think of, even though you know this will cause trouble.
