..." If MOTORISTS are to wear seatbelts to prevent deaths, why is it that we don't have a law for helmets."...
Motorists are to wear seatbelts, so we can sell them those seatbelts and then fine them for not wearing them. Helmet manufacturers are not that powerful....There is more money in screwing with boaters then motorists, that's all.

You are stupid if you actually believe the crap that you just wrote. I sure hope you don't wear a seatbelt; the world would be a much better place if you got tossed out of a vehicle and it landed on your head smashing it like a an egg throw against a wall. I'd love to read about your death from not wearing a seatbelt, that would make my day........, moron!

I wear helmets and have since I was young. I think riding with them is safer than not. I make the choice for myself. I don't choose for anyone else. If the gentleman in question rode without a helmet, it was his choice to make.

Car accidents are the leading cause of brain injuries and death due to brain injuries in the U.S. That means that every driver of an automobile should wear a helmet. Why do you think that auto manufacturers are starting to put in side impact overhead air bags?

http://www.syracuseinjurylaw.com/brain_injuri... is just one study. Yale & Rice Universities have also done studies on Automobile and Motorcycle deaths due to brain injuries. Autos 85%, Motorcycles 43%. If you notice the media only focus on riders not wearing a helmet and make no mention if it was a head injury that killed them. This article did, which is rare.

RIP Myke!

Let me just start by saying Myke will be missed, he was great worker and an ever nicer person. Just a good ol' country boy at heart. Would have never done anything to hurt anyone. When you hear the saying "He would give the shirt off his back". Well that is Myke Browning.

And certainly news and TV are telling the truth, all the time. When was last time Univerities studies turned out to be truth ????
Those folks cant find the restroom with both hands, but they sure sound good. If you look for your scientifical discoveries yo'll find out theat seat belts are almost irrelevant as lifesavers, and majority of accidents happen below 30 miles an hour in the shopping mall. Why can't a man drive his bike the way he wants to without smart ass advices from all over???

I'm glad it's you job to judge Mr. Browning. I just hope none of you ever have to go through what this family has gone through.

He sure had no concern for his family, if he had any respect for them he would have had the brains to cover his head. What a moron; what a complete idiot. Will not happen in my family, everyone to smart to be that stupid!

I'm against both seatbelt laws and helemet laws as they prevent nature from weeding out the weak, both those weak in mind and weak in body.

Have you ever thought for one second that those who are riding know full well what could happen? Just like you have a right to your choice to spew dumba** remarks - it's our right to choose to wear a helmet. <quoted text>
I'm not trying to be confrontational, but why is that that people decide not to wear helmets? I know it's their choice. I just wonder if there is a reason that I do not see. I ride a bike, but will always wear a helmet. It is true that you can easily die with a helmet on. I guess I just see wearing a helmet as a sort of risk mitigation. I've always been curious about that. I don't want to seem like I am second guessing a deceased man I never knew, but my question is for the public at broad.

It is always sad to hear of someone dying in such a tragic way. My thoughts go out to his family.

After reading some of you folks' opinions/thoughts here - i'd take that guardrail anyday of the week. It HAS to be less painful then seeing the level of ignorance here. What has my curiousity peeked is how do some of you people support yourselves? How do you make it through one day without hurting yourself or someone around you with the ridiculous things that go through your minds. It's mind-boggling to say the least.

What is also mind boggling is why would someone such as yourself come on the forum, criticize others for being ignorant, yet at the same time being so ignorant to not know that the word is:
"piqued"

Why is it when these accidents happen, people like you come out of the woodworks? Are you aware that it's possible to be killed if you are wearing a helmet? What would your callous remarks be if he had been wearing one? You don't get on a bike, and that's your choice. People don't always wear seatbelts, and they certainly don't always buckle even their own children in a child seat, but it's possible to be killed in a vehicle accident while wearing a seatbelt too. I agree with you on one thing though, you are clueless.

Dear Jerkoff,
I AM a CITIZEN of Las Cruces. and YOU are correct on the seat belt situation. Calif. has a helmet law. It's a quicker death when losing control of a motorcycle. I have seen idiots on croch rockets popping wheelies on a busy hwy. These are the dufusses that I don't feel sorry for when they break their dam necks. a motorcycle is probably 99.9% more dangerous without a helmet then in a car without a seatbelt, no comparison. AND YOU Being in Calif...The local saying is "ALL the BEST NUTS come FROM California" You my dear are the CLUELESS ONE here. I see the stupidity daily on our roads. MYOB! California has enough problems that you NOT NEED to put in your two cents worth in OUR AREA. Bottom line is IF he LOVED his life and HIS family, he should have had on a helmet. Nothing is going take away the pain from his family losing him but MAYBE it will make other motorcycle riders look up and listen.

You show your level of intelligence by beginning a reply with an attempt at an insult. Why? Does it make you feel better about yourself and your level of rage by belittling others? You keep referring to California - maybe you should go back? It sounds like you miss it or you're attempting to make us the same as them? Whatever the deal is with you, you like myself, have a right to make a choice and to voice our "opinions". As for your "jerkoff" comment - maybe it's more what you "do" rather than how you "feel".....

AND YOU SHOW YOUR LEVEL OF INTELLEGENCE by opening your mouth period. I hope when YOU break your neck riding without a helmet, you stay alive long enough to have some sort of regret you didn't put your small brain in a helmet.

Daily Horoscope for December 11

Scorpio

Take it slowly today otherwise you'll be almost guaranteed to lose your temper and make yourself very unpopular in the process. If someone is annoying you, you won't need any encouragement to start a row because you're looking for outlets for your current ire and irritation. OK, but do your best to direct your anger at the person who deserves it and not at innocent bystanders.
