If anyone knows her you would know she would never have done this. I think there is more to his story that will come out.

There is this thing called reality. Do you really think he would have shot himself three times? Use your heads people.

if you the whole story you would believe she didnt do it, too. Plus the cops are looking at the time line. She would have never made it home in time after the shooting.

At any give time a person is capable of doing things you'd never imagine. The people you think you know are the ones that will surprise you the most. No one knows at this point what the details are or what may have possibly set her off if she did in fact do this.

Maybe his "estranged wife" should have used a golf club. I am sure there is more to this story.

Anyone else find it odd that there are numerous photo's of the victim released to the public in this case, but not one photo of the alleged assailant?

Yes I noticed that, too. Why aren't the papers printing her mug shot?

My friend lays in the hospital and continues to fight for his life. Brenda is charge with the horrible offense. Their family is destroyed and you people are worried about pictures and cover ups. The facts of the case are already public knowledge. He was shot, she is charged with numerous offenses. What more do you want? Their personal problems are theirs and the personnel issues of the Orange Sheriff's Office, that are sure to be debated on this forum, are none of our business. I pray for Bob & Brenda as well as their kids and ask that you do also.

Unfortunately when you're in a public job your business becomes the business of the general public. It just the way it is and people will always be curious, ask questions and speculate. Sad to say but it won't get any better.

We need to pray for this family. I do not believe that Brenda is capable of this crime. I think there is a lot more to this case and hope that it is uncovered. There are two wonderful children involved and therefore I am glad that the media is not flashing her picture on the TV. Brenda worked with severely disabled children. She is a very compasionate person who is devoted to her children and Madison County Schools.

So sad that this happened to at one time a happy couple with 2 great kids. I'm sure Bob handled a lot of domestics in his law enforcement career, but never thought he would be in one. I pray for both of them.

Why should she get special treatment, she has been charged with horrible crimes, they don't give others the same courtesy when they are charged with crimes much less severe in nature. Why do you think accusations of privilege based on race, or affiliation with law enforcement become possible, if not probable.

When I want to understand a woman I just think of a man and then I eliminate all reason and accountability.

Oh yes, the man shot himself several times just to get his estranged wife put in jail. Stop giving this crazy ***** an excuse! The police were at that house several hours collecting evidence-Obviously there was enough to put her behind bars.

She was compassionate enough to shoot him several times, right?! Just the thought of this woman working with ANY child gives me the creeps. Get real!

I really don't give a rats behind about the mother or the father who got plugged. Who knows, like most men he's probably a pig. Whats tragic is the aftermath the children have to live thru. Its also tragic and even more so ironic that a lot of posters here condemn the mental health system in this backward state who will have to deal with any issues arising out of this incident, whether now or in the future. These kids have been traumatized and all I'm gonna read about is some hero cop who got shot. Screw him and his wife, why didn't they both think about their own kids first.

To steal a phrase from General Anthony McAuliffe, I can only say "NUTS"!
