Don't want to burst your bubble, but Coca cola has franchises in hundreds of countries worldwide. We drink it here in Ecuador and has the closest taste to the old 6 oz. bottles made years ago in the states. We love it. Stop worrying.

Wish we had that taste here , again. What really caused them to change it?

I saw a documentary on TV where the Chinese tan their leather with garbage. So, if your slippers or shoes are irritating your feet, now you know why.

Not worrying about taste, just worrying that if the slimy companies keep moving stuff out of the states we won't have enough income to buy Peppermint Patties or Cokes.

Actually coca cola isn't such a good example of a company leaving the country to sell their products back in the US. As far as I know coca cola doesn't import any coca cola into the country from outside.

I guess this means I might find worms in my peppermint paddies too. I'll never by Hershey's Chocolate bars again. If you ever saw worms in a chocolate after you took your first bite. Believe me it's worse then a rotten tater.

Hershey knew that many of the people in the Lancaster and York county area may stop buying their product..... They didn't care!!! And if things go as planned they figure people will forget about it eventually. Unless a movement gets started a crossed the country to boycott Hershey.... they will win....plain and simple. Hershey is gambling you will go away..... They are probably right!

You are right. There are many other companies in the USA that make good chocolate products, also. Good by Hershey. You did yourself in.

Through federal subsidies and price supports for American-produced sugar and tariffs and import limits on imported sugar, US confectioners like Hershey and sweetened-beverage companies like Coke are forced to pay two to three time the world price for sugar here. They have been for nearly thirty years. That's why Coke has subsitituted high fructose corn syrup for sugar in their US products and continue to use the old recipe in other parts of the world.

It's also a major reason why Hershey is exporting jobs to Mexico. Life Savers did it years ago. It's estimated that, for every sugar industry job "protected" by these policies (none of which are in Cnetral PA, by the way) three confectionary industry jobs are lost.

If you object these policies and their outcomes, and your members of Congress have voted for them, you have a beef with your congressman and senators, not with the management of the companies which move production abroad. In other words, if you're in Lebanon or Dauphin Counties, you have a beef with Tim Holden and Bobby Casey, both of whom have voted for these policies, most recently in 2008 in the last Farm Bill. Not sure about Sepcter, but there are plenty of other reasons to dislike him.

I'm with Frank. When I heard the plant was closing in Hershey, I stopped buying Hershey bars. With the Peppermint Patty moving out of the country, I'm not going to buy or eat any more Peppermint Patties.
The Hershey bean-counters suck, and it is time that American consumers use some of their market influence. Don't buy Hershey products. Period.
The plant in Hershey is not closing. And if it is _Please let us all know .

The guys at the top are working against american companies t0 produse in the US. why is this posible.Get these jobs back in the US. This is Obamas plan. No more republican plan to go outside the US to make big profits for american companies. I love it when American compnies must explain why they defend their reson to go outside the US to make this work.

We are also finished with Hershey products and Hersheypark. I wrote to the company last year about my concerns of quality and they answered me back that they could continue to make high quality chocolate. Yeah, not for me though. Guess Hershey Corp. isn;t interested in making money from me in this ecomomy.
I did the same thing. I wrote a polite letter of my concern, and recieved back from the Hershey Company a nasty, & angry letter back. Since then I stopped buying Hershey Products.

It's a real shame. So many people are looking for work now and companies like Hershey's are not dedicated to making America a better place. I won't buy Hershey's Chocolate again.

Daily Horoscope for December 29

Cancer

Be careful today Cancer, because your emotions could cloud certain issues as they often to and leave you feeling confused. You should be especially wary of believing what you want to believe, rather than believing the evidence in front of your eyes. It's easy to kid yourself now about someone's motives or reliability, even if deep down you know that you're telling yourself a load of old twaddle.
