And your point is....that we didn't win? Because either way, we did. And if they were better than us, wouldn't they have won?

hmm okay...i talked to a linebacker today and asked them why they gave up during the end of the game...(ps. were you even THERE?) and he said that they didn't give up, but that there was no use in trying because the lead quarterback was out. we were winning the first entire HALF 14-13 and then something happened...im not sure.

but either way...we're in the playoffs. so ha.

hmm....very clever?
not really.
but anyway,
i find it very odd that Ringgold made it to the playoffs and you called it a bad thing.
And then they lost and it was the end of the world.

Dude,
give them some credit.
Your negative attitude is absolutely sickening.
You find the black lining in every good thing that happens.
WHY!?

I'd be ashamed if I didn't know how to spell "LOSING" right but yet I condemned the educational quality of my local school district.

The Ringgold Football will always only be as good as what the players and coaches put into it. On the players end until they decide to work hard in the off season through weight training and speed training and have the dedication do things on their own at times they will remain average.

As for the coaches? I believe that they currently have a pretty sound coaching staff. The issue with the coaches is two fold. First they can only work within the parameters they have. They cannot simply produce huge linemen or lightening fast backs or quarterbacks with string arms. They can only teach and develop the players they have. Secondly the Ringgold School Board has got to stop getting involved with the coaching situation there. They have ruined this football program with the swinging door on the head coaches office.
They clearly have bigger issues they should be addressing.

In the last five years there have been three head coaches at Ringgold. Each new coach brings in a new system. If you were a Freshman Coach Matty's final year you had three head coaches in your HS career at Ringgold. That is three different systems to learn. I played High School and also played College Football and I can tell you one system is tough to embrace in a year let alone three in four years. Especially for a HS student who already has alot on their plate to deal with.

Sure eveyone wants a winning team and a winning team does increase player participation. The Ringgold program had a pretty decent year in 2007. The only way that will continue is for more and more kids to play.

Back in the day when Ringgold was a powerhouse they had 70-85 10, 11 & 12th graders. This year I do not think they had that many including Freshman.

It's a receipe folks. You can't make a cake without eggs. You can't produce a championship team without willing dedicated participants.

Former Coach at Ringold,

You hit the nail on the head buddy. The kids today are to lazy to juggle academics and sports. I am sure in the classroom there are several large guys or even would be good athletes. They are not ambitious as we were growing up.

The kids of today are lazy and have to much handed to them, life has been made to easy and convenient. They are more interested in their computers and video games. When is the last time you saw a kid in your neighborhood knock on your door and ask you if you want your walk shoveled?

I have not seen it in 20 years. It is the same with sports and everything. To think they call us the lost generation.

Thank you for your comments they are the truth!
