As I am sure you are aware by now, the hospital did in fact close. I worked there and must tell you that the reason it closed was due to the following four names : james burnette, walter wally, mark reilly, and judy wise/morrison. Jim Burnette tried to make it fail to turn it for profit. Walter Wally is from a construction background with no educated degree in health services. Mark Reilly and Judith Wise/Morrison should have never had as much control in financing and billing as the two of them had. Neither Mark or Judith will ever amount to an asset for any employer. Now I am out of work. Unable to supply healthcare, food, necessaties , and even my mortgage payment for my wife and kids. I worked too hard to see 4 people destroy a wonderful place.

I have been in contact with a few of my friends who worked there and they say the same thing. It's ashamed for everyone who put all of their effort into trying to get the hospital up and running again only to be destroyed by poor management. We were like family when I worked there and it broke all of our hearts when it closed the first time. I hope things work out for you and all of the others.

So now we all know who destroyed everyone's life and BGH. She should have to pay everyone who she ripped off back with interest. When those of us who worked at BGH realize now that after Ellen became employed, that's when the hospital started experiencing financial problems that only became worse. Ellen's greed to support the luxurious lifestyle that she and her family lived cost all of us our healthcare jobs, ruined the hospitals reputation and severely affected the patients in the communities who depended on us to be there for them. Ellen, I have a question for you. How can you even show your face in public? You make me sick.....

Ellen should have everything that she and her husband own confisicated, sold and given back to BGH. She caused all of the legal problems for the hospital because it had to be sold due to her ignorance of stealing thousands of dollars. She doesn't care about what she did to us. She's only worried about saving her own as- at this point and time. You can't tell me that her husband wasn't scamming along with her either! He needs to face the music too! He may not of stolen the money from the hospital, but he sure had his hand in the cookie jar at home! He has many luxurious toys too.... "I'd like to ask him how his luxurious life style is now that they are caught?"

Dear Mr. Ricco, I am a former L.P.N. who worked at B.G.H. for 15 years. It was the best place that I ever worked in my 30 years of being in the medical field. In the 15 years that I worked there you have always been there for the community and all of the employees. If anyone deserves to receive an award for outstanding performance and dedication in the medical field and to the community, it is you! I know you are very attentive of employees opinions and I'd like to share a few with you. I know you're aware of watching out for poor management now, the finance books should be periodically or randomly checked by someone other than who maintains them. Everyone that I have spoken to feels that B.G.H. should hire L.P.N.'s. It hurt our feelings that the hospital didn't hire any of us back because we are a part of the B.G.H. family who have a great pride in our community, and are dedicated to giving the best of care to the people of our community. You will get the hospital up and running again because of your strong dedication to each and every human being!

Before you blame Walter Wally in part for that closing you should get the facts first. The salaries paid there to administration were outragiously ridiculous for a new start hospital. Yes, he was a contractor, but he lost $850,000 in that mess and gave his all to get that place open!!! He only took the position for those few short weeks to be privy to information that they would not give him on the financial mess the hospital was in. Burnette was raping the place, Reilly was helping him and Judy was completely unqualified, but there were many, many others who were paid way too much for their positions. Walter Wally took NO PAY up there and was promised that he would get paid for his work he had already done and never did get it. He was lied to continuously but had faith that Burnette would come through. He was shut out of the financial end of it (as was the board) and became suspicious and when he finally did get in there he saw what Burnette, Reilly, Judy and a couple of others were doing and he had to pull the plug. Look at the ones who were paid huge salaries and did nothing all day but sit in the cafeteria and eat. Look at the ones who got huge salaries and just went from office to office to talk and gossip! Don't blame him at all...he gave his entire life up for that place just to have Burnette walk off with it and people slam him. So, before you uninformed people start naming him, get the facts instead of crap you hear from the ones who really raped that place! Who of any of you would have worked up there for 18 hours a day with no pay for two years???? Hmmm, guess none of you! Typical gossip mongers...

That's right, none of us would have been that dumb! You are exactly right though about some of the employees being overpaid. When the hospital was reopened under new management, there was a lot of talk about nurses only having 1 or 2 patients because of the overstaffing. That didn't help the finicial issues that the hospital was experiencing either. I also think management was to quick to hire casual R.N.s {some who already had full time jobs at other facilities} when L.P.N.s could have been hired full or part time at a cheaper rate! Remember, better doesn't always mean the best!

It's not an issue of being dumb at all. It's an issue of trust and dedication. He promised that he would do his best to get it open for the employees and he did. He loved the place and more over, he loved most of the employees. He wanted more than anything for us all to work and that place to succeed. There were several up there who just wanted to make as much money as they could, not worrying whether the hospital could afford to pay them. Many of them got raises in the first couple of weeks it was opened!!! We were outraged about it!!! Poorly, poorly managed and the board let them get away with it. What in the world was the board there for??? I enjoyed working there. Again, not dumb, just honest and a genuine concern for the community. Sometimes I wish everyone were that "dumb" then and not out for themselves at the expense of others. Again, get your facts.

I also think it was a huge mistake to have overpaid nurses there that sat around with nothing to do and not have LPN's. That was a huge issue and no one would listen. A heavy financial burden to the hospital as were the salaries of department heads. Ridiculous. They would threaten to quit if they did not get their high salaries. I would have told them bye-bye. Over-staffing was a huge mistake there. I still blame the board for not doing a thorough investigation on Burnette to see his checkered past and what he did to similar hospitals across the country. They just jumped on the first goon to come in slinging dollar bills at them and empty promises. AND, what the heck was Reilly on the board for when his loyalties lay with Uniontown Hospital???? Didn't any of them see that as suspicious? Geesh. Pathetic.

I have known Walter for nearly my whole life as well as his family. He has done so much for BGH for over 30 years, and with his dad too. They have given the hospital thousands in free work and discounts over the years and gotten the hospital grant after grant because their work was done in a timely manner. He is an honest and giving person, as is his family. He sacrificed everything because he cares for people. If more people were like Walt and his dad then that place would still be up and running. Those people over there begged him to come back and they shafted him. He is not stupid by no means, he knew the need and helped. For people to be so blind and just keep pointing fingers, to me, are sickening and uninformed. It was obvious who was to blame up there, not Mr. Wally. If any of you just got to know him and his parents, you would have known how much they gave that hospital over 30+ years of work there....tens of thousands only to see the place succeed. So, please, shut up already.

I can only say this much... I worked at Brownsville Hospital and at Uniontown Hospital. Brownsville was by far a nicer place to work. The Utown Respiratory Dept was poorly run . Probably still is unless they rid them selves of M.V. and his assistant Mark.So sad to hear about Brownsville
