Former Fayette County corrections officer asks for trial to be moved

The attorney for a former Fayette County corrections officer fired for allegedly smuggling tobacco and pain pills into the county prison Wednesday asked a judge to move his trial to another county and to remove District Attorney Nancy Vernon as prosecutor.

What I dont understand is why the person who helped with the investigation (inmate or not) is still being held to testify against this guard if Nancy Vernon saw it and it was vidoetaped. So why does the informant have to stay in prison while the perpetrator is free out in the public?

If I were you, I would surely be asking for my loved one to be in some kind of wittness protection program away from the other prison guards. Who knows what will end up happening! My loved one was forced to use old rusty razors and his commissary order wasn't being ordered until I called and spoke with the big man at the prison. My son wasn't even involved in anything like your loved one. The guards at the county prison sure have been making the news lately, I wouldn't put anything past them!! Some have records, long one's at that and serious ones too! They all cover one another in that prison. I don't understand how these guards with records that have been in trouble with the law can work at such a facility, and be trusted! We are all subjuct to background checks for employment! It's just disguesting!!!!
