Eric Mansfield had an excellent story on his blog the other night that left me with a profound understanding of the crap that cops deal with day-in and day-out.

"A year or so ago, videographer Carl Bachtel and I were on the scene of a police chase that ended with two teens in a stolen car flipping their car over in the middle of the afternoon. They crashed making a turn in their own neighborhood. One of the suspects mothers showed up at the scene and began screaming at the police claiming that her son was injured because they were chasing him over something small like a stolen car. She kept yelling that it was "the police officers' fault!" and "All this for an M1" (referring to the crime as a misdemeanor of the first degree). Pretty soon the crowd began to join in with her yelling at the cops. Police noticed the tension and called for extra officers. As soon as the suspects were loaded into ambulances, police abandoned the stolen vehicle scene to avoid a riot."

This is exactly what is wrong with this country. I fully support our police because they have to deal with idiots like these daily. I can understand their frustration and would gladly look the other way when they need to put a boot to the head of a criminal.

The black leaders are so blind. They think the white man is their enemy. The black leadership is their own worst enemy because they refuse to answer to their own failings to bring up their own. Why is their own people failing to graduate from highschool? Why are they unemployable? Why are they committing crimes? Why are the so violent? Until they admit that their own culture is failing to raise their own children properly, nothing will change. Blame the white man all you want, Ophelia, but nothing will change as long as you do that. Look in the mirror for your answers to what is wrong.
Same question back to you, why are your white children committing crimes, why are they so violent, your culture doesnt raise its children properly either, have you heard of a black child killing his or her parents?? hell no. I have seen and heard white kids talk to their parents so disrespectfully and the parent just sits there, looks stupid and does whatever that child DEMANDS. So don't sit there all uppity and act like your little lilly white children don't have issues, I have seen them do a whole lot of horrible things. At least we aren't afraid of our kids. I've never had a child in trouble and even though they are grown and on their own, you best believe they still know who MAMA is. I have a friend who is scared to death of her 8 yr old because he told her that he was going to kill her when she goes to sleep, WTF is that about.

you are right there are to many people out there not teaching their kids respect and who is boss i have alot of friends that do as their kids say and when they tell them to do something yeah right.let me tell you it is in all colors.sometimes i beleive everyone is afaid to punish their kid cause now days you go to jail for slapping them or beating their ass.Well i am not afraid if my kid needs put in their place that is what i am going to do.their are kids out their from ages 10 and up doing drugs drinking smoking and getting pregnant and no one is doing anything about it...But you know what if it was a parent kicking their kid to stay out of trouble we would be sent away so how can cops that are always armed and have the athority get away with it???????TELL ME THAT....Kids need guidance and rules, parenting is a big part of how your kid grows up and where they end up.Not to say that even if you are a great parent that your kid won't get in trouble but atleast you will know you did what you could to raise them...Thanks for listening

I completely agree with you on that. Children do need guidance, rules and discipline, but these children aren't getting that.
I think its because the parents are younger and younger and instead of being a "parent" to their children, they're trying to be a "friend" to the children. I can remember when I was growing up my mom stayed home my dad went to work, mom was there to supervise and guide us, that's not the case anymore. Now there is just mom running the house and dad's probably nowhere to be found, now....the government steps in and says mom has to go to work and thats fine but now Jr.'s between 12 and 15 which makes him too old for daycare. Mom's gone all day which leaves Jr. to run the streets and get into trouble. A lot of times mom has no idea what's going on with him because, he gets home before she does and he gets the mail, so how does mom know that he got in trouble at school or for that matter how does she know that he's kicked out of school and he's just wandering the streets.
School called and she's not home to get the call so they send him on his way. Of course he's going to tear up the suspension papers mom won't know, she's at work.
And then there's the mom who wants to have a life, bar hopping all day and night, kids left on their own all the time, she doesn't care what they're doing as long as they're not in her hair. So this is what we end up with, a bunch of disrespectful, uncaring kids who grow up to be disrespectful uncaring adults no respect for other people, no respect for the law. I know of someone right now who's sons deal drugs from her house and she's ok with that and do you know why.....because she gets her weed free, she doesn't see this as disrespectful because her sons are grown, now I may be crazy but I don't care how grown you are you will not disrespect my house. Yes the police are armed but so are the drug dealers... do you know that they carry far better weapons than the cops do? So yes, they have to do whatever it takes to protect themselves as well as you and I. Have you ever seen a drug raid? I have and I will never forget it 3 officers killed by gunfire from the fools in the building with ak-47's and stuff and this was a while ago before the police got the 9mms they carry today. Did you also know that you can go anywhere and buy a stun gun...these are some dangerous times that we live in and I for one want to be adequately protected.

ON THE REAL I do see where you are comming from i really do.I was raised in NY ,but the country.I was never around anything like that before, the big time drug dealer and stuff. We had our acassional kid that did drugs , hell i even tried them but i never wondered where they came from and who.Now that i am a mother i see why my mother was so worried and always in my bussiness. But just from news and stories and others talking, I fear for my life when I see someone who may even look like the occassional bad guy, you know...This world is getting to hard to trust anyone.I am a stay at home mother for this reason i was to be the one that sets the rules and know where they are and what they are doing.Alot of kids in our community here laugh at me because i don't let my kids listen to rap, Let me tell you it isn't because i am racist it is because what that music says to our kids. They also don't understand why my children(ages 10-6 and 3) are not aloud around the block themselves.I guess maybe i am to pertective but i want to watch my kids grow until it is my time.OH yeah not to mention the sex affenders they are everywhere....so yes I do understand to exstent why the cops do what they do but their are a few of those so called good guys we can't trust and it is a hard way to find out which ones...Again thanks for listening...

If I had youger kids, I wouldn't let them out of my sight either. The music these kids listen to is absolutely deplorable. But like I said earlier there is no guidance in the home anymore.
