This guy needs to be locked up! Why is he still able to drive around drunk like this? He could kill someone, is that what it takes to get these losers off the road? Did he have a yellow party plate on his car?

I wonder why the judges for the other 10 convictions let him off?!? That's what needs to be investigated.

Why did it take 7 DUI's for this man to be facing 10 years in prison? I wonder what kind of punishments led up to this because none of the previous ones kept him off the road, did they?

D.U.I is not a game and I'm sorry for trying to make a bad joke. The bottom line is if Sherry Bevin would get off her A-- and start putting these real criminals behind bars..driving could be safe again. As far as the joke about the F.O.P....I have friends with APD who go there and drink but then again they have the "GET OUT OF JAIL FREE CARD". I once was pulled over after having a few drinks while out playing darts. I had that famous sticker on my window..and I know there are some who know what I'm talking about..Folks I was drunk and the ossifer told me to go home and not come back out. For GOD'S sake..I lived 10 miles away. After hitting the curb 2 miles up the road I called my brother-in-law to come pick me up and I'm glad I did.

That is rediculous! Seven DUI's. One DUI is too many. He will borrow or steal someone else's car and drive again. Either jail or house arrest for this idiot.

Alcoholism is a fatal disease, if it doesn't kill the drinker it CAN kill innocent victims. As a former heavy drinker myself, I found I could not quit even after being locked up from time to time, until I was willing to quit. It usually takes a total surrender by the alcoholic, as in being sick and tired of being sick and tired, before there is any profound length of sobriety! Unfortunately our society allows (companies to produce and induce drinking through promotions/ads) people to get drunk and then punishes them afterwards. The system again proves to be broken. In this sense of society reasoning, why is it then that we don't legalize and encourage people to become drug addicts, rapists and/or murderers. Unfortunately, jail for a sick person is NOT the answer!

This is going to EXTREMELY unpopular - but contrary to popular belief, drunk driving is a relatively minor cause of deaths in the US.

In 2006, less than a third of all traffic fatalities involved BAC percentages of over .08%(31.7%). Conversely, fully 62.8% of all traffic fatalities involved drivers with 0.0% BACs.

http://www.alcoholstats.com/mm/docs/4925.pdf

Also, traffic fatalities involving drunk drivers has steadily gone down over the years - 35% since 1982.

http://www.alcoholstats.com/mm/docs/4540.pdf

The current zeal of the anti-DUI and MADD crowd is largely a trumped up hysteria of a problem that really doesn't exist. But, it's politically correct - just like the anti-smoking brigade. Even if you COULD get every drunk driver off the road permanently, you'd save a whopping 13,000 lives or so.

We'd be better off focusing our resources on banning Big Macs.

I thought part of getting sober was taking responsibility for your own "lack of control" problem and not blaming all those around you for it; Wouldn't that also include society, advertising agencies, the state liquor board as well as those family members/friends whose lives you destroy in that self-induced downward spiral?
Hmmm, I can't remember a day that I watched a commercial or saw a picture about anything I "could" consume and ran out and consumed it because they made it look inviting.
