Who would've guessed six years later this would still be unresolved ? I was living in akron when this happened in jan of 07. I was in south cali for six years and still all these years later this still reverberates when I come home a month ago. The elder brother was killed about a year and a half go, garrick that is. He was just done working out and headed back to his ride and was ambushed by two assassins lying in wait I've read . Where this happened at isn't even a bad area either, not far from where he lived on robert street. I am glad to be back home but akron really needs a stop and frisk policy in bad areas and constant police presence at places like tarson terrace. They use these policies in LA and they work great

It breaks my heart to see these kids walk and talk so tough, even hurt and kill eachother. I just can't understand why they cry like babies when it happens to someone they love. Please take some personal inventory and turn to the One who will satisfy. I am one who loved the gang life, everything that whent with exept jail. one day some one shared how much God loved me and they also lived that message. I believed that mesage and it changed my life 13 years ago. that mesage was the death, burrial and resurection of Jesus Christ according to the scriptures. Urban Love
join the marines or the police force. I saw a video of police laughing as they killed somebody with a taser, but god forbid anybody hurt a police dog.

This is a sad situation. He decided to not testify against is gang-friends and now look at him. Someone had to take to fall for this innocent life being taken. This all starts from the home. We can not blame the lawyers. We have to blame the dumb parents. It's time for these parents to step up to the plate and take responsiblity for their children. I guarantee this kids parents are NOT together. He didn't have anyone to tell him right from wrong and now he's paying for it!!!! Sad,sad, sad!!
no no! You can blame lawyers for everything bad! Look at how long it took to sentence denny ross, only because his dad is loaded!

Yeah there are gangs in LA,just stop and frisk helped a lot, crime rates way down. You can walk around nickerson gardens now cops around there all time. Hardly n korea, just civil. Not like the citizens were going to patch things on their own, neither will they will here. Put down your obama propoganda and get in touch with the real world.

Also it said in court documents garrick was a gang land hitman targetting witnesses, really ? Or is this conjecture? Does anybody recall when he bit that guys ear on diagnol years back? Tyson chewz

But violent crime in Los Angeles peaked more than 20 years ago, long before LA changed its policing tactics. Obama propaganda? how about the fact that they drop or reduce charges just to fudge the numbers too?
