Put his A$$ in jail for a long time.

Teach every potential bomb threater a lesson.

Why? By 27 years of age, making prank phone calls should be out of a person's system. If the accused is found guilty, I would very much like to know what thought process Mr. Ford used when deciding to behave so ridiculously. This is a situation when I think the embarassment at being caught behaving so immaturely would weigh heavier than the jail time. By the way, I would still let the guilty spend a nice chunk of time in the crossbars hotel.

Mr. Grump, I often disagree with you, but, today, we are kindred spirits. As one old person to another, I truly hope this makes you feel less grumpy than usual.

What makes you think so? Yes - "normal" people like you and I would be incredibly humiliated over something like this - but then, again, we wouldn't do something like this to begin with. People like this guy are never embarrassed or ashamed of their actions.

He's a terrorist.

Upon conviction, send him to Gitmo.

Send this trash to prison for a long time. I bet he will think his pranks are real funny then.

Hmmmm, the Locust street address should have answered the question about why a 27 year old hasn't grown up yet. Not exactly the best and the brightest over there.

Absolutly! That is called "domestic terrorism" When I joined the military, I took an oath to protect and defend this country against ALL enemies, Forign AND DOMESTIC. you don't have to be a muslum to be a terrorist.

Better yet, set him directly to the front line of Iraq as a roadside bomb detector.

There needs to be a law passed that guarantees that people who do these things will be caught. People who make anonymous threats have no right to intimidate and frighten innocent people because they (the perpetrator) has nothing better else to do.

I never thought of the bomb threat as terorism. I think you are exactly right. As terrorist acts go, a phony bomb threat would not rank as high on the scale as acts that cause physical injury, but it is still terrorism. I would like to see ths matter prosecuted as such and punished accordingly.

The purpose of a terrorist is to terrorize. Making people think they are going to die in an explosion is terrifying, therefore a terrorist act. End of story. Its slammer time...

Since it was an email I'm sure they were able to get a trace on its origin.

Rather than jail time, would it not be better to require that all those convicted of making threats/false alarms must reimburse the authorities for every nickel of the cost to respond to such an incident? And if they don't have the money, they are required to work off their obligation as part of a jail work-release program.

What... make people be responsible for their actions? What a concept! Sounds good to me!
