You can charge anyone with anything. The above person "Indeed" could take you to court for directly calling him/her an idiot. If it's personal knowledge, like you said with DUI and arrests then no. But, if you are directly slandered by name that is defamation. An ISP address can be traced in less than a 5 seconds. Wow, people can use computers to hack into personal accounts, delay flights, build weapons of mass destruction, etc....but an ISP address can't be traced. That does make me laugh. Go see a lawyer "How". Bullying is a major issue right now.

You are flat wrong, name calling is not slander, or libel. Secondly, one stating their opinion is also not slander, or libel. Lastly if what is stated is true then it also is not slander, or libel. No isp address can be traced as there are privacy laws that prevent this. The best that can be done is finding the general area an isp address came from. This of course is useless as there are thousands of isp addresses in a general area. To trace an isp address requires a court order and tens of thousands of dollars in lawyer fees. Privacy laws and freedom of speech make libel, or slander very difficult to prove and also very very exspensive in lawyer fees.

slander: a false, malicious, and defamatory statement or report.
Name calling may not be slander, but making statements that people are performing beastiality, or that they were fired from their job, or stealing, or cheating, making these kind of statements when they are false IS slander, and do believe, if I didn't get these posts off of here and it affected my job, or my home-life, I would be consulting a lawyer!

if someone state you are nasty without posting "i think" it does not count as an opinion, its an implied statement which can be considered slander.
