I am glad to see Bryant leave our district. Sad to see the parents of Unionís School District get him as your superintendant. Make sure your board members let him know he works for them or he will make them yes men and woman. He is a dictator. He is not to be trusted. Bryant treats his teachers and support staff like dirt. Make sure you have a moral clause in his contract. He has been known to be caught with his pants down in the office with the secretary by the custodian. Guess who lost his job?

I see there has been no activity on this topic. I implore Union residents to take this warning seriously. This man is trouble and your childrenís future is at stake.

Steve Bryant had an inappropriate relationship with a married employee while he was also married. At the very least he should have been terminated for unethical practices. He lied to the school board and told them that he didn't have the relationship. Now however, he and the employee are both divorced from their spouses and are openly in a relationship. Even with this evidence, the school board did not terminate him. Furthermore, Bryant has a history of abusing his educators into either adopting his way of running things, or he finds a way to get rid of the educator. I personally saw this happen to at least 4 educators during my time at Salem.
If you are a parent or staff member of the Union School District you need to contact your school board and demand that this person NOT be allowed to take over as an administrator. This is a warning that should not be ignored. Your district will turn into what the Salem district has become. A laughing stock for all the other schools in this part of the state.
BE WARNED.

I see still no interest in this thread. Trust me after he takes charge in your school district there will be great public outcry. If there are teachers reading this from Union, you have the most to fear. Especially if your are a respected member of faculty. He likes to be the supreme being and will not allow anyone to outshine him.

This post was started by a horrible teacher that should have been fired years ago. Mr. Bryant has been a great Superintendent and the good teachers in this district understand all that he has done for Salem R-80. Bad teachers dislike him because he puts pressure for them to improve or leave, as a good Superintendent should. He will be missed in Salem and Union is fortunate to have him.

Well, you must be smoking crack because I was a Salem Teacher and parent and I was first had witness to several incidents of Steve Bryant verbally abusing and threatening employees and teachers. The fact that you are defending him tells me that you are either him or one of his "Good Ole Boys" that ran things into the ground. If he's so great, why is morale of the staff so poor there? Also, why are the students failing at a higher rate and dropping out? The people who are commenting on the negatives of Bryant are the ones telling the truth here. I know because I was one of the people he threatened. If I had recorded the threat Salem R80 would be bankrupt right now from the law suit. The fact that MNEA and MST don't have the power to bring all this man has done to light is the ONLY reason he's still employed in the MO education system.

I'll repeat my warning again.....if you are a Union employee or parent you need to call your school board and have this JERK removed before he does to your school what he's done in the past.

UNION is suffering

I am so appalled that this joke of a person was allowed to take over as the superintendent of Union School District. The school district was already suffering from the hands of the previous sup. and this JERKOFF has come in and destroyed what like integrity that this district had! The best teachers are being terminated for unjust cause because he wants to feel all powerful!! This so-called man is an ASS!!! He is screwing so many people in more ways than one and our children are suffering! All this man cares about is how much money he can steal and how many secretaries he can screw!! And I think that this needs to make it into every teachers hand and every parents hand! Because he has his hands in everyone's pockets or down their pants.

Go vote on April 3 to change the school board members! New members = change

The LAST thing we need is more controversy! Get him the heck out of our school before the entire staff from Salem replaces our staff! He is starting to slowly incorporate his cronies by getting rid of proven staff. DO not let this happen here. Take Local mom's advice and start calling the board members. Let them know you vote and remind them that they work for us. If they want to stay in the position, they better listen to the masses.

We are all very close and involved. We vote and make changes when needed. With this issue being highlighted he will be watched every minute and will never have the chance to get comfortable enough to take these actions. He will be lucky if he gets to stay. Thank u all for the heads up!

The Board needs to wake up and fast!!!! We have lost a most respected principal, Mr. Vanzee and all I mean ALL the teachers support him. We also have lost a wonderful principal at the Middle School!!! How can he get away with this. We are losing teachers right and left and the BOARD is to blame also because they are voting yes!!! WAKE UP and take control of our school people. We need a new BOARD and fast and he needs to move on!!

Parents are very upset about the loss of Mr. VanZee. He has been an outstanding principal. Again, go vote for new board members on April 3rd. Cummins isn't afraid to speak up to anyone. He's very upset about what has happened. We need his voice shouting out for our children!

The district is headed inthe wrong direction. He was brought in bc of who he knows, not what. The recent hires of administrators continues to show that will be the case with the current board. Too many deals made on the golf course rather than in the board room perhaps? Time to make changes in the upcoming election.(Too bad we don't get to elect the administration.)

Well, I agree with all of your comments. I just opened the newspaper and saw where the Missourian reported misquoted Chad multiple times. We are very disappointed with the Missourian and the reporter who obviously can't read or understand his own short hand! Let's start by getting his education correct as well - he attended The University of Dallas and Western Oklahoma State.(Good example of how the reporter listened!) Our school district needs some changes.(By the way, our phone number IS listed in the phone book. We don't hide from issues. I could just keep ranting here, but it's time now to move on to calling the Missourian!)

I was very upset this morning when I typed the previous blog. The reporter with the Missourian is going to re-print the information. Makes me feel 100% better that people do actually do the right things. My written apology goes out to the reporter I just slammed above. I was very upset about the phrasing.

I should have called the paper before finding a blog to rant on. Again, my husband is running for one of the slots. If you have questions for him, just call!

As for your comments regarding the superintendent, I don't know much. I can say that I

Sorry....hit enter too soon.

I can say that I was very upset to hear that some good principals were dismissed. I don't think that would solely be the decision of one administrator. I would think the board would have been involved. Can't answer that. I'm sure that wasn't a meeting open to the public.

Rambling again......
