Bridges slow No. Ky. road projects

It looks like the Louisville bridges are going to take precedence over the road projects in Northern Kentucky for Ky.536, U.S. 25 and U.S. 27. Great, that's just great...and I was so in hope one of the most scenic, and most dangerous road in Boone County would either be repaired correctly or widened. I travel that road twice a day to and from work...and it literally scares me to death sometimes. From the Y shape corner north to U.S. 42, 338 is just too narrow for passing oncoming dump trucks, semi's, school buses, and even at times regular cars. You have to drive almost on the yellow lines to keep from going off the shoulder into a rut, which I did on a snow covered morning in Feb. of 2003. There was an oncoming Boone County Sheriff that I eased over for, so that we both could pass each other, and I ended up in the rut and slid into the fence....$6000.00 worth of damage....due to a poorly maintained road. He, by the way was on his way to another accident I just passed on the same road. My insurance rates went sky high because of that accident and won't come down until June. There is not a day gone by that I don't see new skid marks, a banged up tree, busted fence and who knows how many accidents. The road is just too narrow and poorly maintained shoulders for the amount and kind of traffic it gets. There are also huge trees along side this road, which make for an even scarier scenario. Last summer when the ground was so dry, one tree decided to split into and fall across the road. The sheriff said it was as big as my car, and I had to turn around. Many others have split from lightening strikes and/or wind....or just decided to fall....driver beware. I've notified the road dept, the transportation dept, the sheriff dept....all to no avail. Last week I passed an oncoming school bus that was a foot over in my lane. I closed my eyes and held my breath as we passed. Another problem is when there is an accident down on I-71 coming north, and even south on 71-75. Where do the big trucks go? Your right, either to or from Richwood via 338 causing more damage to the road, let alone accidents. Please someone do something.
