bet the ground hog is too smart to stick his fuzzy little head out of the ground on the south side of Chicago.
he knows some out of control negro person will take a shot at himd any standing around him an and end his career as a weather forecaster of weather forecasting.

Hey. Down Kentuck way white folks are so poor we've been eating our groundhogs for years. Pretty good if you know sautee 'em in beer overnight before you grill 'em.

Wildcat is only half joking. Down this way the critters are a nuisance. They dig holes in pastures and horses and cows step in the holes and break their legs. Farm boys go out in the fall of the year with .22 rifles with scopes and pick the "whistlepigs" off at long range. Some country folks do soak 'em in beer, grill 'em, and eat 'em too. I'm not kidding.

there was a nasty unfounded rumor that da ground hog took his shadow into the dry cleaners back in early January so it would be cleaned pressed and ready for da big day. Feb 2th.
Alas and alack da hog forgot which cleaners he dropped of his shadow off to be cleaned. they all look alike to a ground hog.
There was a frantic search of dry cleaning establishments on the south side of da city.
but neither of the two still operational cleaners them had da shadow or a record of the hog dropping off da shadow to be cleaned.
the others all closed down after being robbed so many times it wasn't possible to stay in business.
Guess that happen a lot on da south side of da city.
guess the drug gangs lame ass shooters don't use cleaners often if at all, looks likes mom's do the dirty work getting the blood and gun shot residue off the gay boys threads around the digs.
so there is a reward offered for the safe return of the ground hogs shadow.
some city ya all live in, if you call that living

You palefaces don't know how to cook groundhog. They're great boiled with Irish 'taters. Put in plenty of black pepper, some diced up parsley if you got it, and let it simmer for about 12 hours in a crock pot.

I don't think we'll ever convince a bunch of Yankee city slickers that we really do eat the critters down here.
PS My grandma could cook 'em boiled with taters but I don't know how she seasoned 'em.
