I certainly hope that this succeeds. We had a great shooting range in Woodstock, until the city council, led by the ass of a mayor, decided to shut it down, by not renewing the lease, on the worthless piece of city property where it was located. The current mayor, Brian Sager, was on the city council at the time, and was very sympathetic to the members of the club. I don't believe that anything useful has been done with the land since.

I agree. Come out and support the range Thursday April 26th at 1:30 at the building on Ware Rd. across from the McHenry County Courthouse. There are 5 houses within a 1/2 mile radius. This is a great location and is surronded by fields and trees. Yes, there are a few houses, but it would have to be near towns if it is going to be successful. I really hope for the sake of the failing village of Woodstock this goes through. People who go to the range would have to have valid FOID cards. This would be a safe and fun family establishment that would be a huge benefit to the community.

Why not use it for an ecovillage where people can come and learn about a sustainable environment instead of how to kill things

You can never have too many places to learn and practice shooting. Sorry "Really" shooting has nothing to do with learning to kill things. Shooting is a sport and a hobby just like football, shopping, fishing, or bird watching. The fact that you can use your hobby to save your life or the lives of your loved ones just makes learning to shoot and practicing all the more imporatnt. Please Woodstock, make this happen!

Jackie Neal was so strung out she told me she didn't even want to see her kids this past weekend because she had two men she was with now Frank and Dennis and they were so good for her riiiiight and I know and I'd like to know why in the hell the court system even let's her see any of those babies. I pray for those poor children it's aweful their own mom wants nothing to do with them most of the timeShe is always VERY strung out on drugs and if you the family cared anything for her kids you all would stop lying to yourself and do something for then. It is ashame that she chooses to be that messed up on drugs and homeless and running from state to state than to be a mommy to her children Jackie is doing really bad I seen her last week and damn she looks like she is on her death bed. I feel sorry for the little ones running around that nasty apartment with those nasty men give up the drugs already and grow up

Dear "Support It", you are quite wrong, there are over 200 homes within a 1/2 mile radius and about 1000 homes within a 1 mile radius. there is a planned subdivison across the street! my home is within hearing distance and i can tell you what, i am fighting this! it belongs in a more remote area. if you want this range behind your home, then please call the petitioner and offer him a new location!

I agree with you, it is a great sport and my husband and I used to go to the shooting range weekly.

Really, we live in rural Woodstock and we hear the guns going off all hunting season, for the past 30 years. No one has ever complained, why don't you move back to the city!!!
