if by badass in chicago or new york you mean someone who will shoot you, etc, then im sure you are correct. in this case, i believe they mean who are the best fighters around here. not killers..

These little cage fights that are being staged all over the country are they safe?

I am not only talking about the long term damage being done to the bodies and brains of the participants.(I will get to this later.)

I am talking about the exposer to blood in the cage. Are all the participants tested for blood borne pathogens prior to completing?

1 in 4 Americans or 65 million people in the U.S. are now infected with sexually transmitted diseases which destroy the human body, reproductive tract and other body systems and an estimated 5 million people or more in the United States are infected with various forms of deadly and chronic hepatitis type B and C, which destroys the liver and causes cancer.

Another one million are infected with HIV/AIDS.

2 billion people on earth are now infected with deadly hepatitis B.

180 million people worldwide have Hepatitis C for which their is no vaccination.

350 million people on earth live with chronic Hepatitis B infection.

600,000 die each year from chronic Hepatitis B infection.

Hepatitis B is 50 to 100 times more infectious than HIV.

Chronic liver disease is the tenth leading cause of death in the U.S., much of this liver disease is caused by hepatitis.

An estimated 1.2 million people in the U.S. are infected with HIV/AIDS.

An estimated 35 million people worldwide are infected with HIV/AIDS.

Fighting sports organizations nationwide must explicitly warn people repeatedly of the dangers and the statistics of HIV and Hepatitis.

Also all athletes in these fighting organizations should be tested before every fight for all forms of hepatitis, HIV and other blood borne diseases that can be spread through cuts/blood while fighting.

Think about it...if a coworker was injured and bled, would you roll all in their blood? Would you expose your mouth, eyes or cuts to someone else's blood?

Why would you enter a cage and expose yourself to someone else's blood without knowing if they had hepatitis or AIDs?

Just something to think about.

The person you really don't want to mess with is someone who fears for their life... someone who is backed into a corner. Those are the ones who will surprise an attacker. So beware of those you think might be an easy target or victim... you don't know them as well as you think you might!!!

A person who feels threatened by another, can turn into the bad ass of the century.

Or me! I am someone that others would never consider a 'bad ass.' But backed into a corner and forced to defend myself and my life, I think I might shock some people.

Because if you have it, you can spread it.

I don't care to catch AIDs or hepatitis from someone who is infected with it.

I don't sleep around/have unprotected sex or use drugs/dirty needles. I take care of my body and my health. I don't want to catch some disease that is going kill me with a slow painful death just because I came into contact with some infected blood.

Everyone should be required to be tested for AIDs and Hepatitis every 6 months.

It should also be a requirement in high school sports too!
