Teen mom

I got pregnant at 15. My child is 12 now andi have been the parent the whole time. My pregnancy resulted from lack of birth control. My mother didn't believe in bc. As a teen mom looking back hindsight I see mistakes I've made. Difficulties I brought on myself. Issues in raising my child properly. I see the growing up my child and I have done together. As a grown up mother now I worry about my child making similar mistakes. My life has not been easy. We talk consistently now that he's able to understand more what I'm saying. I can't emphasize birth control. Condoms aren't reliable. I truly feel that had I been on an oral birth control or shot i wouldn't have gotten pregnant. I know this will be viewed as harsh but in my opinion. I feel girls should be required to take birth control upon a certain age of maturity. I know people don't want the govt choosing for us but spending all the money for the birth of baby, food, housing, childcare, etc. Birth control requirement from 12 to 18 would at least be cheaper than the way everyone's tax dollars are currently spent. But that's freedom of choice. Even young girls have the freedom to become pregnant and choose to raise their children anyway they know how.

What about sorry as! mother that is a nurse and has gotten her daughter an abortion. And she acts like a pimp not a mother! Thank god she goes to church because that makes her a good person!

One of the biggest problems we have in this country is people simply accepting things that are NOT okay! Heck...we don't simply accept teenage pregnancy...we REWARD it!! Free medical care, WIC, food stamps, free housing, daycare centers in public schools, college grants, etc. These kids are getting pregnant because they have no reason not to. People used to have pride, shame and self respect...now they have "baby's daddies" and food stamps. What happened to morals and personal responsibility? I guess they were replaced by entitlements paid for by the taxes only HALF of American workers are forced to pay.
By the way...if you are having unprotected sex you did not get pregnant by "accident" or make a "mistake". You chose to engage in an activity that has consequences. Lucky for you the government makes us pay for the consequences of YOUR actions. At least it does right now. We are running out of money fast. Too many takers and not enough givers. Who do you think is going to suffer when we do run out of money? I'll give you a hint...not us!
I very much agree to many handouts are given, but we all make mistakes no matter our ages...40 year olds make just as many mistakes as 17 year olds just different "kind" of mistakes. Don't judge someone just because they sin differently than you. But, with that being said, I think things like food stamps should be limited just like the welfare is now. You can only draw welfare for 60 months now since they passed the reform. No reason why food stamps shouldn't be the same way. I know a couple who the wife chooses to stay home and not work so they won't lose their food stamps. WTH? That should not be a choice. if she is not working and your family is drawing food stamps you should be made to do community service for the benefits. You have to light a fire under some people's rear ends to get them going! Food stamps should only be for people who are working to the best of their ability and still need help (in example one income single parents) or disabled people who draw small amounts of disability need help. Maybe include people down on their luck who lost a job etc. but only give it to them for so long...like after 3 months if you haven't found a job you will lose them anyways. That's just my opinion. It will never happen that way.

im afraid of what she might say we already have a crib and changing table because of the previous in home daycare and im looking for a job if anyone can help or have any advice for me itll mean alot plz and thx
Sorry you are in this mess, but you have made a commitment and as long as he acts and does what he is supposed to do, he has every right to be with his kid. To want child support and no contact is not going to happen unless he is a risk to child's well being. So good luck with that. I don't know either of you. I wish you all 3 the best.

kids these days wrote:
15 year old girls were getting married a starting families up until the early 1900's. The difference is that they were a lot more responsible back then and so were the parents. Mom and dad were usually both there to raise these children too. Most 15 year olds today are truly babies. Common sense and morals are the two things that are different now. Kids are not taken to Church as much now either and that does make a difference. Yes it is the parents fault now, instead of raising kids they want to be their best friends.
Also people took care of what they had. I am sure men cheated, women lied also back then, but those people had no other choice but to work on it. People give up to easy these days, pride, envy, jealousy all sins. Some married people should not be together, but are they really better off apart? A lot to think about before throw something away for something else. I am on my second marrage, we are working on making it last forever.
