As a member of Gods church, this is your opportunity to rise up and do something for local missions. "who else" can help you meet these needs. Start tomorrow. Pray for help. And pray for those going to central America. May the sights they witness fill them with the desire to help locally as well. Amen.

God is good..........

I see where the Preacher's next son-in-law has joined the choir. It is just like a soap opera at Second Baptist. I like going every Sunday just to see what is going to happen next!

Getting on topix and mouthing. Idle words is helping no one....please direct your own energy toward something good and start your own mission team locally if you feel led to do so....but the honduras thing has helped those people so much and they are grateful for it....I know a lot of people in america wouldn't be as grateful or deserving as those poor people who dig through garbage to eat....where as our poor people over here wait @ the first of the month for a check to arrive and complain about that!!

There are people in our area that doesnt get help from the government, so help them instead going over there. Some of yall dont even pay your own way to go, the church sells boston butts and everything else, I know for a fact the church pays some of yalls way to go. Think about it.

If by "church" you mean caring members who work hard and support with their purchases, then yes the church helps to fund. Many people around here want a handout, not help. There's a huge difference. The families in Honduras want a break with the love of Jesus mixed in. I believe they should get it.

It happens in every church, but especially the huge ones. They can say they're doing good all they want but the money and resources that go into these trips could do a lot better locally. Isn't it sad the largest building in our towns are Banks and Churches?
Just something to think about. When you go to your church tonight or Sunday morning look at it real close, how many homes could have been built ? How many local hungry children could have been fed ? If the answer is disturbs you....maybe you should go to a small church.
I go to a small church but I fear the "how can we get more cash in here ? " disease is taking it over as well.
