We build fireplaces. It depends on where you are put as to what you will be doing. Could be assembly line, flue line, accessories or refractory. Not a bad place to work. I don't think the work is hard but there are some jobs that are heavy.

I put one in Sept and got called, but as it is now they are not hiring, because they were supposed to get a contract and didnt get it. When they were at the time, told me to call the beginning of the year, and thats when she told me about the contract. Dont get your hopes up if you dont get a call, and if ya do, it will be interview and they tell you they were looking for something else besides assembler. The only thing ya can do is bug the shit out of them, let them know you are interested, if ya have a job now, keep it til ya know you will be hired.

I worked there back last year and yes there was layoffs and most of the people that start work for about 3 months then they lay them and there point system is a joke and even though they say you have 7 points if you miss more than 2 days during probation period then you will be fired and the union there is a joke also or they wouldnt let all that go on with them making up the rules when they want to. I worked with some great people there but the managment sucks there and they claim they worry about safety but never fix the problems that are a big concern and i don't know why they have maintenance men dor because everytime something needs fixed they contract someone outside the building to fix stuff and by that i mean if some lights are blown in the building they will contract someone to replace them because the maintenance men are to stupid or lazy to fix it and they wonder why that place is going down the drain and losing money is because they let all those things happen

"worker" : You are an idiot. I have worked there for more than 21 years. They did not have any lay offs the last couple of years. Yes, we do have a point system because they need us to come to work. If you miss two days while you are on probation, then we don't need you! The union, well I don't worry about that, because I do my job and stay out of trouble. We have been closing for years, but we are still here. Because we are making money! You are probably someone that got fired for missing too much or you suck. You need to learn how to spell and use grammar correctly. That's one long ass sentence.

Im not worried about grammar because i know what im talking about because i came in with 6 people and guess what they was laid off after 3 months and this past year there was some more that had got laid off.I never once was in the union myself because its a joke and i only missed 1 day out of the 2 years i worked there and i didnt get fired i left for a better job so i could actually move up because the senority rule there would of never let me moved up because i was on the bottom of the list. And what upset me about the point system is what if someone new came in and had a bad car wreck or accident while on probation period still and come back to find out the 2 point rule that was not in the handbook and gets fired.Like i said i worked with great people out there and busted my butt 8 to 10 hours a day but wasnt going anywhere. And since you been there 21 years you probably have a easy job out there but unlike me i did start out in a bad department but they all hated to see me go because i did everything they wanted and was fast at doing it.I dont have anything bad to say about anyone out there but if you was in a different department then you knew nothing of the layoffs i seen out there.

Not one person has been laid off in 2012 for a fact. We have hired all throughout the year. If you came in with 6 that got laid off after 3 months, then how did you work there two years? What two years did you work there? Or better yet what is your name, and I'll tell you when you worked there. I have a friend that got let go, but he was told during his interview not to have two misses during probation. If you were out a whole week for a wreck they would only count that as one issue. I don't have it easy, but we all started out on the entry level jobs. I can promise you that it was way harder in the early 90's than it is now. They have made the jobs much easier than when I first hired in.

You asked an honest question and "worker" turned this into something personal. There has not been any layoffs there in quite some time. Some that were hired last year either walked out because it was too hot, missed during their probation period, or just wasn't cut out for the job. It is not a bad place to work. Any work place has its problems and Lennox is no different. Much luck to you if you get a job there.

I have worked for Lennox several years. They tell you when you go up front you miss while on probation your gone. My guess is if they want to hire you then they will call you when they are ready for you not until then.

just wanted to let u know that I have not worked at Lennox very long..less than a year, I was one of the first hired in after the buy out. If u come in there and do your job and make every effort to be at work and back from your breaks ON TIME then you will not have any problems. It does get very hot in the summer but it is an honest living. It is hard hiring into a place with people that have worked there for 20+ years they all act like u are stupid..some of them anyway, and the others are glad to see new ones come in because they know if new people are coming in that work is there..

As an employee I am thankful for job. I do my job and I dont have to worry about attendance points cause I am at work everyday. I see no need in a union but if you want to give them your money thats your business. If your not a member of the union dont worry they will come to your home to see you. My suggestion is go to a union meeting before you join and ask what you are going to get for your money for a year. From what I understand the last meeting was a joke and I would not want to spend my money or time listening to drama, whinning, and preaching from the same people that have nothing better to do with their time or their life.
